I made it 24 hours with food, then the next morning ate eggs and a burger, sadly. This was yesterday. Today haven't eaten anything, another 24 hours in.

These kind of crash diets are unhealthy and completely pointless

It seems you've already been down that route with the fasting. There are more ways, dozens probably, to see inward. Mescaline comes to mind but I realize that isn't for everyone. Try going on a hike or backpacking, or helping other less fortunate.

I think I know what you're searching for because I and others are looking for the same thing. Right now I'm exercising everyday; the hours on the treadmill, the battle with your body to get it into shape is eye opening for me. See if your awareness is stronger than your instinct.
 
You know, it's probably better to eat more often, in smaller amounts, and excercise to get your metabolism going, but hey. If it makes you happy. :)
