Ivy Skin for iPhone 3G?

i don't like clear cases..
i've tried a few clear cases and well those are great except that clear cases get more scratches easily to compare to other colored ones..

I posted about this case in the other thread. I think calling the screen glass is misleading. It may be a glass composite, but it sure feels like plastic to me. It's fairly rigid, akin to a thin piece of polycarbonate, like those old Nalgene bottles (lexan i think). If it is truly glass, then i guess it's a thickness issue (too thin) that gives it a plastic feel.

After several days of having this case, I'm pretty lukewarm on it. I love the look and feel and the fit. It's tight and takes some angling/forcing to slide the phone in. This is not a case you want to take the phone in and out of everyday. Has to be that way for the touch-thru to work properly.

My biggest grip is the screen. It is a smudge magnet. I would MUCH prefer the case if it were left open and just utilized a film.

Perhaps I'm a person who'd be better off with something like the Innocase II. I just miss the feel of the screen with just the PS on it. It is simply harder and more true - you're certain you're touching glass.

My IvySkin Xylo T3 saved my iPhone

During the holiday break I managed to drop my iPhone with a IvySkin Xylon T3 case on it into the mechanics of a recliner. It spent most of the day in there witht eh chair getting the foot rest put out several times. It was the evening time before some heard it telling me bout all of the email I was getting.

When I finally pried it out of the mechanics I was sure that my iPhone was broke. Luckly the iPhone slide out of the case and then I was able to slide out the case from the mechanics. The iPhone to my amazement turned on right away when I hit the home button. I tested all of the touch screen and could not find any issues.

After making sure my iPhone was workign correctly I turned my attition back to the ivyskin case. I found that there where several gouges and cracks in the front side and scratches on both the front and back peices. As you can see in the pictures below there is a nice crack up near the ear peice that goes in the screen section.

The pics only show a little of the damage but it was enough that the case is not much uses any more since the top part of the screen does not work. So now I need to get a new case. I have been very happy with my Xylo T3 in the 4 months I have had it. I do have to agree with some of the other in this thread that the top latch does come open at times but the back never came off due to this. The only other issue I have with the Xylo T3 had been that it does not cover the data port on the bottom.

I now see that IvySkin has the Quattro™ T4 which I am thinking mayba a good replacement for the Xylo T3 since it still has the hard screen cover that I have realy liked about the Xylo T3. Has anyone had both the Xylo T3 and the Quattro™ T4? How much larger is the Quattro™ T4 then the Xylo T3? Is the Quattro™ T4 as durable as the Xylo T3?

Ivy Skin The Quattro 3

I ordered a Quattro 3 for my new Touch 4G. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get it. Ordered it last Friday(the 18th) and it is still in processing as of 23rd. I realize it was only available, according to the Ivy Skin site, on the 16th of February. So we will see how it goes. I am not going to wait too much longer I have it in a 2G case and it is very loose. If the Q3 is not shipped by Friday I am going to order an Otterbox.
