Dunno, but I do know that it isn't going to be "iWatch." That name is just awful.

Oh come on now, think of the billboard text possibilities.

"I care about my health, so iWatch it"
"iWatch my pulse daily"

Yeah... you're right... that name is pretty dang cheesy.

It has its definite cheese possibilities, but it also says exactly the wrong thing. Apple isn't going to want to associate this product with ancient single purpose devices, or even with the current crop of "smart watches." The name will have to speak to an entirely new class of wearable tech products, so something like "iLive" makes more sense to me. I'm not trying to guess beyond predicting that "iWatch" just isn't going to be it.

That's like saying a fitness trainer too doesn't help you remain fit.

Anything which tracks the amount of steps you take, the oxygen in your blood, etc, and gives you valuable recommendation, helps you become/remain healthy.

The point I was trying to make is that it actually adds value to something you don't already have, as opposed to a smartwatch, which simply duplicates the functionality of your phone.

Exactly! A lot of people buy pulse meters to know when they're exercising just in the right fat-burning pulse region. While I don't really think Apple will be able to come up with one without a chest band (if they do incorporate a pulse meter NOT requiring you to, say, put your other finger on a sensor, making it impossible to be used while, say, swimming), even if they do require a chest band, the iWatch may become a serious contender for, say, Polar or Puma pulse metering watches. (I have both.)

While the iPhone addressed a real need. The iWatch seems to want to create one.

I'm thinking more, the iPal will complement the iPhone in a big way. That iPhone can stay safely tucked away for many routine uses, with less fumbling, and fewer accidental drops. I'm suggesting the name iPal, rather than iWatch, which is too narrow of a definition for that rumored new multipurpose wrist device.

It goes where you go, and augments the iPhone. It also sounds catchy, and such a name is short, easy to remember, and in the same vein as iPod and iPad. You're welcome, Apple. :D
