I purchased my computer 2 days after the new MBAs came out, not complaining here, I just paid for the entire iWork 13 suite.

If you can afford an Apple product (Hardware), then you can definitely afford a lousy $60 dollar suite.

after using it for a couple of days, I've reinstalled iWork '09.
this latest iWork is a stripped-down 'dung' version of its predecessor and most frustrating and slow to use.
I'd be asking for my $60 back if I were you.
so many unhappy campers out there - http://goo.gl/Ux44Nz

I own Microsoft Office for Mac 2011, but I want to give it a try...

If I ask for a refund.. What other program could I get? I don't play games, I don't purchase online music/movies/tv shows...

:/

iWork and Aperture are now free. It's not free as in you go to the Appstore and download it but if you have the trial versions - available all over the web - you can upgrade to the full versions. Apple says it in their own press release so this isn't spreading any kind of piracy.

If you read between the lines they want you to go find the trial versions and then upgrade through the Appstore for free and have the full version. It's actually a brilliant move. It would have taken them forever to grow their user base for iWork but now they will get a ton of people to use the product. From there they can introduce new features and/or move to a subscription based model, which is where the money for apps is nowadays.

For iWork '09 users, obviously it is a disappointment with a few features that were removed but if you followed what I said in the previous paragraph, they would have to strip down the program a bit, before building it up again.

bring templates across from iWork '09

I'm probably not the first to realise this, but I saved all my most used templates and themes (from old Pages and Keynote) then opened them up in the new versions and they automatically go into 'My Themes' etc.
slowly getting used to this latest iWork and actually starting to like it. ;)
