Silly? Yes. Awesome? Also yes.

I have the OpenA Case and it's awesome. (My friend who is awesome got one during their kickstarter phase, and then I had to copycat him so I got one from their site.) Customer service and the product itself are excellent. Do you need it? No. But really, do you *need* it? Yes. ;-)

Disclaimer: I don't work for the company, I just think they rule.

biggest antenna available!

it may or may not solve your drinking problems, but def. should fix the antenna-problem at the i4's, too!

Nomad Brush sells capacitive tipped paint brushes for use on your iPad. The iPad can't sense pressure, so the use of these special brushes is primarily for feel. Artists may be more accustomed to using a brush than their finger. Brushes cost from $18 to $39.

Um, doesn't this defeat the whole purpose of a touchscreen...not to mention the fact that Jobs didn't want a stylus for the iPad to begin with: "God gave us 10 styluses--let's not invent another."

I got the Griffin AirCurve when it came out and loved it. It was a great way to charge my iPhone at night and have a loud alarm in the morning. Unfortunately, it only worked for the iPhone 3 style; my iPhone 4 won't fit (and also has a flipped mic/speaker setup).

I just ordered a WaveCradle, which seems like it will work for any generation smartphone. I'm eager to try it out, even if it doesn't have a charger.

Griffin made Aircurve Play for the 4-style phones. Different design but works just as well.

Just for further info, from their websites:

Does it raise the volume of the speaker? It does not increase the volume, but it does raise the perceived sound level in the direction the WaveCradle is pointed. You’ll hear crisp, clear sound up to 20 feet away.

10 decibels louder. Magically.

Without revealing the secret of the magic, we can tell you that AirCurve is a cleverly designed acoustic amplifier that collects the sound from the built-in speaker of your iPhone, amplifies it in a built-in coiled waveguide, and projects it out into the room.

While that *particular* iPhone wallet looks like garbage, all you people trashing iPhone wallets in general don't know what you're talking about. For me, they're the way to go.

A) if i carry a separate wallet, and misplace it, i can't use Find My iPhone to find my wallet, now can I?
B) if I really got mugged, I'm sure they'd want both my phone and wallet anyway. So that point is moot.
C) one less thing to carry around/worry about in my pockets actually makes me feel more secure when I go out, and it's more convenient.
D) it's a conversation starter... that's not why i have one, but it's turned out that way.
E) my particular wallet covers the screen when closed, which was the primary reason I got it.

While i'd never put my key in one (I guess there are people who carry only one key?)... which incidentally is the proper place for a freaking bottle opener (on your keyring), if you need to carry one around... Nonetheless, in general iPhone wallets work well.

iHouse

These case announcements are getting silly. Soon, someone will design a 3,000 sq/ft iPhone case and call it iHouse. It'll come with a kitchen sink and a backyard.

Well someone like myself that drinks lots of craft beers that are not twist offs, a bottle opener is always a valuable commodity and not having to have one on my key chain would be a plus.

Buy a pair of Reefs. A lot less douchy.

Actually, the bottle opener cases could come in very handy for restaurants that use iPhones and iPod Touches to integrate with their POS systems.

All of these cases look like junk. Look how the intoxicate pulls away from the phone as it's opening a bottle:

Whats with all the hate on the iPhone wallet?? Seems pretty useful to me for when you want to hit a bar or nightclub and just want to carry your phone, ID, a CC or two and a few bills. I certainly never need all the contents in my wallet when I am heading out at night.

bottle opener case for iPhone.. yeah, sure..

Because there's nothing like putting physical stress on your iPhone just to open a bottle. Brilliant.. and besides that, you move a cheap throwaway device into the category of a mustn't lose device.

I'll take two.. not!

But for AUS$40, think how well those bottles are going to get opened...

The opena case is nothing like that. The case is completely rigid, and the slide out bottle opener is in a sleeve of the same material. There's no tension at all on the phone.

Hmmm, using my expensive, glass iPhone as a lever to open bottles, forgive me if I skip on that one.

Is this true?

Garageband responds to harder taps to produce louder sounds..

GarageBand fakes it by using the accelerometer data as the harder you tap the more the iPad moves.

Apple also has private methods to detect the radius of the touch that normal developers are not allowed to access.
