Jailbreak for 4.2.1 not out yet? besides tethered version?

What is 4.3 supposed to include.. Cuz it seems like all these updates are really nothing special.. Does apple not see their competition is exceeding them?

AirPlay and AirPrint are fairly large updates even if crippled at the moment (unless you know the hacks ;)).

Just because you don't have an Airport Express, AppleTV or don't want to print from your phone doesn't mean that they aren't great updates for those that do.

i wish that was my case. i was going to exchange my iphone 4 due to the never ending proximity issue, and the 4.2 came out the same day as my appointment. i figured the apple store would just want me to try out the update anyway, so i went ahead and canceled my appointment and freshly installed the new iOS on my phone. it's hard to believe, but so far no more proximity issues. i really miss my jailbreak though.

I got a replacement yesterday, and it was on 4.1 still. I was even able to save the SHSH files for it, as Apple is still signing 4.1 (as of yesterday)!
 
Unteathered boot

I have been using the jailbreak on OS 4.2 (new 3GS) for a few days now and am happy to say I haven't had any issues with Winter Board. before anyone asks me why I bother with a tether only option, its because I'm impatient and those standard sms/email tones just don't cut it :eek:. Can anyone tell me if Winter-board would stop my phone from booting if I find myself without a tether option i.e if my battery goes flat when I'm away from my PC?
 
Any idea when the untethered jail break will be out?

I tried jailbreaking with the redsnow one... everything went as per the instructions... except when the phone started cydia was a blank white icon and would not open. I don't even know how to un-jailbreak :(.

Waiting for the untethered jail break till then.

In the mean time any help would be appreciated.

You have to plug your phone back into the computer and run redsn0w again, this time choosing the "tethered boot" option instead of install cydia.
 
I'm still on the jailbroken 4.1 and waiting for an untethered 4.2.1 as well. I don't really need much from the upgrade, but I kind of just really want to have the "Find My iPhone" feature, because I have this feeling that my phone will ironically get lost or stolen before I activate the feature while I wait for the untethered jailbreak.

I also have to upgrade and jailbreak my mom's phone as well. She is still on 4.0, because hers is jailbroken as well, and I hadn't been home for a long enough time to upgrade and jailbreak hers to 4.1, so I'm hoping that the untethered version comes out soon enough that way I'll be able to upgrade hers early in the Christmas break.

4.2.1. is useless dude, stick with 4.1, i wish i did.

The untethered JB has been out for a couple days now if you have a 3GS pre-week 40. I just did it for a friend last night on her 3gS running 4.2.1 and now the ipad baseband. Completely untethered.
