Tested it and deleted it because:

1. one of my banking apps doesn’t work
2. Amazon Prime Music doesn’t work
3. Airpods 1st gen lose connection, volume jumps
4. multitasking with paid tweak is unusable because it wouldn‘t show the box to type in in whatsapp or messages. It just cuts the lower part of the app.

Things like that happen to me every time I try jailbreaks. Apple should just give us a bit more freedom..

sorry what i meant was iOS 13 doesn’t exist for the iPad Mini2. They are not gonna rewrite a whole OS to support a discontinued iPad. You can’t just throw the version of another iPad on it and expect it to work
now that makes sense...thanks...was just hoping for apple arcade on it...lol bought it cheap on eBay for my 3 year old, didn't realize it couldn't get IOS 13, just stupid in my part!

Yes, and it’s better than it’s ever been, and the community is the largest it’s ever been

it’s really for people who enjoy theming and stuff now a days. Very high quality stuff out there.

love my dark icons or glyphs with my lock screen customization and customized dynamic wallpapers and my always on display and my text message Having different colours or status bar having different colours and icons

making the keyboard truly black and using the wasted space where the home bar is

I like removing the dock background and home bar

I like auto unlocking my phone when I look at it, none of that swiping up

I like being able to mimic the good old 3D Touch “press anywhere on keyboard to initiate cursor” not just the space bar

I enjoy custom gifs and moving wallpapers

I also like speeding up the Animations a bit, iPhone is very snappy with that

for me it’s mainly theming and a few tweaks

they have things like home screen tiles and widgets and stuff. Not for me but some people have some really awesome looking customizations

it’s a lot of little things but you can make it as big And as many changes or as small as you like.

Someone like myself enjoys changing icons and colours and wallpapers etc regularly so it’s right up my alley. Makes the phone feel fresh and you can change the look

with the incredible battery offered by the 11 Pro and Pro Max, you can really push these devices to do some amazing stuff like (real) multitasking and Always on displays and animated wallpapers

I would like to see your phone :D

"incredible battery"

lol

"amazing stuff like (real) multitasking and Always on displays and animated wallpapers"

lol it's so cute how some people think features most android phones have had for literally years are "amazing"

They are awesome features tho are they not?

a lot of that code is already in ipadOS so they just port it over to iOS

it’s bizarre why iOS doesn’t offer these things yet ipadOS does but oh well

And yes these are android features but I prefer iOS for multiple reasons - jailbreaking allows for the best of both worlds.

I was a galaxy s7 owner from launch until I got an iPhone X in Nov 2017, and missed some features like AoD and multitasking when I got my iPhone X, jailbreaking allowed me to bring those features I loved to the operating system I preferred

Pointless for 99% of the people. Im really curious to know what tweeks justify the risk of having your personal smartphone rooted with professional hackers tools and exploited for stealling sensitive information. Hobby?
Yes it is pointless for 99% of people As it is a bit of a hobbyist venture - theming icons and adding little tweaks to enable picture in picture or multitasking like on iPad and such are not necessities to owning an iPhone

But if you know what you’re doing, It is more safe than you make it out to be. iOS is still iOS and the sensitive information that stays on iCloud and the Secure Enclave, stays there. On top of that you can tweak your device to be even more secure and safe.

it’s fine to comment and question why does one jailbreak, that is valid, but a lot of these comments shed light into how little people understand about how the security and privacy of iOS works, or even how these vulnerabilities are exploited and how they work to install the jailbreak. Jailbreaking is not giving anyone the keys to your car, it’s just letting you do what you want with your car

Can't Android users understand the fact that just because it has more features isn't enough for iOS users to switch? You don't judge which OS is better based on features. I'd rather use unjailbroken iOS than Android. I like iOS. Don't try to change my opinion.

Let's make an analogy. Are people concerned that nearly every computer OS is unlocked and the user can easily get root access or inject code? Why should we be concerned with doing the same thing on iOS? Jailbreaking merely just unlocks the device.

💯💯💯

Why these guys choose nicknames and apparently remain anonymous? Freedom of choice in terms of software should be perfectly legal and encouraged by governments.

Apple is firmly in the just because you can doesn’t mean you should camp. That’s why iOS and macOS differ so much in their UI. And why iOS and iPadOS do a bit as well.

it’s absolutely true that iOS is dramatically more secure than android.
“Absolutely/dramatically” in the terms of marketing for the most part, although App Store malicious apps are far fewer than on android counterpart. I will give it that.
Apple refuses to create a back door
All I can say is they “publicly refused to make a backdoor”. There is no independent third party inspection confirming iOS is not rigged with backdoor.
Apple does not like to have any open security holes that are known about.
Depending on how severe the security holes is and whether the hole is hardware related, Apple may or may not be able to patch it unless they release a new generation of A-series processor that patches the hole.

In summary, I would always take those claims with a grain of salt and choose not to “just believe”. Having the mindset of “iOS is safer than android” to me is dangerous.

Except, there is no “freedom of choice in terms of software”, and those corporations will lobby the hell out of governments to make jailbreak illegal. Also, remaining anonymous protects them.

What banking app you using? None of mine have any issues. Also amazon prime music is working on my end too.

After a couple days with this jailbreak, BEWARE. My battery was draining, so I rebooted my iPhone, and now it's in a boot loop. So I'm now trying to get it to boot up without losing data.

I get that. I’m an above average computer user and I have jailbroken my iPhone previously (several years ago but did not know to put any additional protections in place and reverted fairly soon) but my big issue is that everyone says it is safe and can be secure if you know what you are doing and I feel like I am someone who can handle that but finding reliable information to “do it” right and protect oneself when jailbreaking is the tough part. Everyone has their own opinions. I did read before this all about the alpine root passwords, ssh, etc. and everyone says use known repos to avoid hackers. For me the process of correctly educating myself to be adept at the tricks is the hardest part.

My point exactly. You don’t seem to have issues but others do. I keep seeing that for banking to work, you have to take extra steps.

To answer your first paragraph, there isn't really a way to know what's good and not unless you integrate yourself in the community. You need to know which developers can be trusted, which repos can be trusted, which packages/repos are copied/stolen, which packages/repos are illegal etc. If you want to jailbreak it's really best to become part of the community. /r/jailbreak on reddit should have all the info needed.

To answer your second paragraph. That's simple. Different apps, different protections. Some banks will block jailbreaks, some won't. Some can be bypassed, some can't.

What did you install? It's not caused by the jailbreak.
Everything I installed were popular tweaks, and it shouldn't matter what I installed because when you reboot, it goes from a jailbroken state to a non-jailbroken state.

I looked into this and it was a problem with the unc0ver iOS 12 jailbreak as well.

Now some good news, I did option+update thing and pointed it to the 13.5 ipsw, and it was able to boot up with no data lost. But I'm really cautious about jailbreaking again, I might not recover the data next time.

First thing I did was install Eggnotch to hide the notch and Saw to remove the homebar and homebar inset.

It absolutely does matter what you install. The non-jailbroken state doesn't revert file system changes, it merely disables patches that are done in live memory. There are packages that can corrupt your system files. A reboot won't get rid of those.

is it 100% untethered?

Semi-untethered

So, anybody know if it's true that this won't stop you from using bank apps and Apple services? I read that on WIRED. I think that's my only concern, using my bank apps.

That depends who you bank with, I have a few accounts with different banks, one bank couldn't care less whilst the other does not allow you to use the App but you can still log in from Safari (go figure!).

Will uncover jailbreak the ATV3 ?

Don't think ATV3 has ever been jailbroken and nor will it be anytime in the future, but could be wrong

There's a couple of powerful and useful programs out there that won't ever make it on to the App Store. Particularly, Spike, and Loop. They are medical apps that are updated enough that they likely will never get FDA approval, but extremely useful to some individuals. If you don't have a Mac, and don't want to pay the $100 a year for a developer account, I figure Jailbreak is your alternative to XCode?

Can you find Loop on Cydia?

Btw, you don’t have to jailbreak to install Loop without paying for a paid developer account. You can use a free developer account (and build every 7 days) or use TestFlight (there are a number of devs that distribute various versions of Loops through TestFlight). But for me the $100 of a paid developer account is worth every penny for using Loop without the hassle. Xcode is free and if you don’t own a Mac you can use VMware/Parallels.

You must be insane to install a jailbroken software on a device that holds so much information about you and you rely on even for work. You can't get official security updates from Apple and the "hack" software does not come with guarantees from anonymous people let alone who knows what is going in the background of those apps or what it is doing to your iphone. This can be used on a spare iphone that you don't really care about.

That being said, there is some cool things in the video below, I won't say I like it but something are implemented better than Apple and looks better. How are they even able to do this stuff? Did they get the iOS source code?

I know Asus tends to give out the software to some programming enthusiasts and use them as beta testers and wait for them to invent new "features". There is jailbroken firmware for Asus routers called Merlin, thats how it works, or at least how I understand it works.

I thought there was no point in jailbreaking anymore, then I watched a few videos of the possible tweaks and I thought: I wouldn’t mind some of those!
