My iPhone 4 did that too. All I had was the apple logo on the screen for 4 hrs. :eek:I was sick to my stomach.
I pressed and held the home button and plugged it in to my PC and iTunes restored it ... :D
I'll NEVER mess with it again.. well never say never LOL

Wow... 4hrs... you were much more patient than me! I was running about the place and googling like crazy within about 30 seconds  I have no problem with restoring now though, except the inordinate amount of time it takes to sync everything back on. If it wasn't for that, I'd be trying JB every five minutes :D

I used jailbreakme.com to jailbreak my 3.2.1 iPad. At first everything was working fine. Then, when I rebooted, everything went weird. The display was acting more like the iPhone. Only 4 rows of 4 apps on each screen, the dock was like the old iPhone one, and the dock itself only takes up the bottom left corner of the screen. Also, when I open Cydia, it feels up the screen, but the Tab Bar buttons won't work. Any ideas?

All I had installed was:
Snes4iphone package
OPENSSH

Known issue. Install SBSettings so you can respiring. Then just respiring when it happens.

Hey guys, I need you smartys to clear up a few things for me.

If I jailbreak (I have never done it before on anything so i"m very new and don't know what anything like SSH or other things mean - so if one could point out to a very informative site it'd be great) and install backgrounder:
1. Will I be able to double click the home icon to get the multitasking thing like in iOS4 or is it different?
2. Currently the Skype app has been updated to work on iPad but its not large enough however if I put the iPad to sleep to shut off screen, it puts me on hold until I turn iPad back on. With using backgrounder, will it still do that or will I be able to use Skype and multitask without being forced into hold?
3. As stated above, my main purpose is to multitask on the iPad so would you recommend (having been almost mid august already) that I wait for iOS4 to arrive or JB now?
4. I did a lot of research and many cannot restore and others suggest first enabling DFU mode to restore in iTunes. If i were to JB, how would I get into DFU mode to restore in iTunes?

Thanks!
