Just trying to jailbreak 2 iPhones 4 and I cant access jailbreakme.com?

it gives me this:

Not found (error to origin)

any ideas?

I get the same error message. Even though I'm on a 3G, I usually see the screen that iPhone 4's see but there is no slider.

And this is exactly why I'd like to see us be able to localize all the files so that we can host it ourselves and restore without worrying if the site goes down for whatever reason.

So far, I've tried www.jailbreakme.com, jailbreakme.com, and jailbreak.modmyi.com. Both jailbreak.me.com and jailbreak.modmyi.com give "Not Found (error to origin)". www.jailbreakme.com will give the slide to jailbreak, then say "Oops... File received was invalid."

I've tried this on multiple networks (3G, Wi-Fi), DFU-restored a phone to 4.0.1 (Apple is still signing blobs, so didn't need to pull from Cydia), wiped cache and other items, ad nauseum.

Is there a mirror of jailbreakme.com that just isn't a blind forward that is trustworthy?

The only trustworthy ones are www.jailbreakme.com and www.jailbreakme.modmyi.com. You'll either have to wait till they fix their DNS issues or risk an unofficial mirror

Wow, I thought there was something with the 3GS I was trying to jailbreak last night at 10 PM central. I was getting the error with the white page with the error message at the top left corner (don't remember what it said). Then when I got through to the purple page I KEPT GETTING Oops...file received was invalid or something like that like 50 times. After an hour of trial and error I finally got through and it downloaded the file and jailbroke and I got Cydia on the homescreen.

I just kept hitting retry after I took my SIM card out. Don't know if that was the culprit but it worked after that.

Well, I had no trouble getting it to come up (with the full www URL), but now it just sits at the purple starscape screen after I did the whole slide to jailbreak routine. It's been like this for about five minutes now. Server issue? Or phone issue?

Edit--server issue. Got the invalid file message as well after a reboot. Next try gave me the Downloading... Then Jailbreaking...sit tight. Hopefully it goes through this time.

I think the site might be down - i tried using it and am getting the same problem

It's hit or miss. Mine went through on the second try after hanging. Cydia's currently updating "essential packages".

you can no longer jailbreak from the device because of the iOS update to block pdf hole. It's what jaibreakme used to jailbreak the phones.

You can if you have 4.0 or 4.0.1. Just because 4.0.2 is out it doesn't make the site useless.
