hey guys, im new here, been searching this forum all day, i bought a second hand iphone 3GS today and the model still says MC at the beginning.
When i got the phone it was on 4.0.2 so i downgraded to 4.0.1 (8A306) to try and jailbreak
cant find any tutorials that really help to be honest, ive also got a 3G witch i have now giving to my gf, i jailbroken and unlocked that last night using redsn0w, (really easy)
but just cant seem to get this one sorted
i keep trying http://www.jailbreakme.com but i keep getting the Oops... File received was invalid, do you think this is my iphone or the site? because it does say something on his twitter page that it will be fixed by the end of the day?
really worrying me to be honest, as if i cant get this jail broken i cant get it unlocked so its ALOT of money wasted

yeh ive had a look through it mate, but the site is working on my iphone so how can it be down ?
The JB via the website is down. Just sit tight and it will be up & running again HOPEFULLY sooner than later for us all.
i hope so, havent got a phone until its fixed lol, but no doubt about it ill have problems even when the site is fixed haha

Finnally managed to JB my 3GS by using http://www.jailbreakme.com
i downgraded my firmware from 4.0.2 to 4.0.1
then, take my sim card out and keep retrying to download on jailbreakme
it seemed to work, unlocked aswell, but im having a few problems with cydia, not sure if this is normal

well not every second, was hitting retry every 5-10mins or so, and it finnally worked, got it all up and running now, updated cydia and installus finally installed
**UPDATE, I kept hitting Retry and it finally went through! "Cydia is now on your homescreen"

it worked for me at about 9.30 uk time, i just kept clicking retry every 5 mins and in the end it worked

I did the opposite.I turned WIFI on and joined my home network and it instantly worked :S
So it appears that the website is working differently for everyone. I think you just have to catch it at the right time. I have been patiently hitting "retry" all flipping night and still no luck. I do find myself hitting retry a little harder than I did when I started though.
Try hitting retry 5 times in a row, wait about 20 seconds, and then 5 again... it will go eventually.
