I have a 1.1.1 jailbroken iPhone and am looking to upgrade to 1.1.4 jailbroken iPhone. What is the easiest way to go about doing this?

If you are on a legal contract, just Update using iTunes and then use ZiPhone to jailbreak. You can find ZiPhone in this site.

I am on a legal contract. So, upgrade to 1.1.4 via iTunes and then jailbreak it using ziphone? Wouldn't this erase all applications and other settings that I have done with my 1.1.1 jailbroken iphone?

All settings on the normal apps are gonna stay. The unofficial app settings are going to go, as well as the applications themselves. There is no way to keep these settings.

And yes, ZiPhone can jailbreak only. I believe its the third option down.
