Their computers are pieces of unupgradeable crap.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about...

Maybe the iMacs aren't easily upgradeable, but what idiot would buy one of those thinking they WERE easily upgradeable? Stick with the towers (Mac Pro, G3, G4, and G5 towers), they might cost more upfront, but they last forever! I'm still using a G4 tower from 2001; Dual 1GHz G4, 2GB RAM, and an updated graphics card and HD. Has worked flawlessly since day one.

If you are into playing games, then look elsewhere. But if you use your computer for audio editing, video production, photo editing, or anything else that requires a lot of "guts," then why waste your time with a PC?

---------------

And BTW, I too have this stupid January update problem, but as was mentioned earlier, just clicking the "x" before it loads works fine...though I would like to see this remedied in the near future.

But in reality I don't think we should expect everything to work flawlessly when we're running JB'ed touchs. And I still don't understand why so many people are still whining about the $20 for the extra apps. It's not like anyone is forcing you to buy it, so what's the big deal? Jail Break that b*tch, and move on. Of course I also have no idea why so many people are affraid or just morally opposed to Jail Breaking, seems stupid especially since you can always restore if you don't like it.

um....
you think its WRONG to use software update without paying for it???

oK. your a bit mixed up there buddy.

Especially considering you jus said you have a jailbroken 1.1.3.

what you SHOULD do is this.

Pay $20 to each of the guys who made all jailbreaking possible, all the guys who make all those free apps for us, all the tweaks, fixes, and uselessly fun apps we all cant live without. The hours they put in for our BENEFIT, not just to squeeze as much coin out of our pockets so that some shareholder/portfolio manager can tack on some nice numbers to his year end bonus.

I am NOT fine with throwing away $20 and giving it to a company that pulls some crazy shenanigans like this by blocking us accessing our iPods. Sarbanes Oxley can kiss my A____.

I LOVE apple products. but this is ridiculous.

under that stupid black long sleeve shirt Steve Jobs wears, he prolly has on a shark suit. i hope he gets a paper cut from that stupid manilla folder he keeps the macbookair in.

ok angry rant over.

Well i had the Touch for 2 or 3 week without the Jailbreak, actually the only app i am really useing is the weDICT and the Flashlight. ok and other icons... .
It is just that i don't why you are complaning about a Message that remindes you that you have stolen something. Is the same thing if you would complain about the difference in quality between a illigal movie(not Dvd rip) and a DVD movie, and in the and get pissed off if you don't have the bonus stuff.

And by the way , you can donate money to them, BUT is you dont it is not illegal!!!

well they could also sale it , but i am sure that you would complain that someone try to make money out of their efforts!

stolen smth??
i think not.

how much did you pay for your iTouch? 399? How much is a lower end iPhone? Yet iPhone gets those programs. It comes with it. So why charge iTouch users $20 extra? Does it COST them anything extra to give it to us? The marginal cost of distributing it is literally ZERO.

Cost = ZERO.
Cost to iPhone users = ZERO.
iTouch user = $20.

Who's stealing now?

and honestly, the msg doesnt do anything but annoy me by blocking access to my iPod. i couldnt care less about "how it makes me feel"

Just right click on your Touch in the left panel and choose sync. Also, try Reset Warnings.

I use Little Snitch to block it on auto, so I am just guessing.

Don't forget that the programs are automatically installed with 1.1.3! So when you upgrade to 1.1.3 the apps and everything are already on your iPod - all purchasing them does is unlock them. They're already on the iPod, just hidden. So yeah - Apple obviously isn't charging us for distribution - that part is free!! They're simply charging us because they can ...

I posted a thread about this in the iTunes forum:

MAKE IT GO AWAY (Apple's dirty tricks)

Before the 10.5.2 update, clicking "No Thanks" or "Remind Me Later" would give me a connection error.

Now it is taking me to that dumb screen...

The only way to get around it to your iPod management page is by clicking the "x" in the status box while itunes store is opening (right when you connect your ipod).

screw you apple.

"It Just Works" :p

And the Sarbanes-Oxley connection here is just a myth, as has been proved countless times by accountants who point the finger squarely at Apple's over-zealous interpretation of the law as a cover for corporate greed. It's a sad reflection on the Apple community that so many users are willing to accept that tripe as an explanation (without a peep of confirmation from Apple, I might add) when there are many better ones. Just do some reading and realise what it means to Think Differemt.
