    RIP. What a great actor. Rockford Files was a favorite when I was a kid.

    Used to watch that with my mom when I was a kid. Great actor.

    Perhaps one of the most likeable actors on screen and television.

    I'll join the group that liked him in Maverick, Rockford Files and movies such as "Support Your Local Sheriff." I might as well also add he was a good choice for those Polaroid commercials too.

    This one was rather depressing to read about.

    Really liked the Rockford Files and Maverick.

    Maverick was a really good series – part of a golden age for westerns on TV. Remember Tenderfoot (aka Sugarfoot), Laramie, Rawhide, Cheyenne, The Rifleman, Boots And Saddles… happy days.

    I'm another of those who used to watch 'The Rockford Files' with my mom when I was a kid - my mom was a huge fan and loved it.

    Agreed: He was a lovely and hugely likeable man, and a talented actor. RIP.
