Has your 2018 Macbook Pro KP'd with the Bridge OS error since 10.14.3 GM

It seems overall like less people are experiencing T2 crashes. Hopefully Apple is identifying bugs over time and fixing these. I have a few OTA updates in the same folder which I see the crash logs in so it’s clear Apple is working towards it.

Maybe the issue really is a very small number of machines really do have defective T2 units, and the rest are susceptible to some T2-related crashes. Mine seem entirely related to one piece of software (Screens) so there’s probably just a bunch of different use cases that have to be identified, troubleshooted, and diagnosed.

Definitely not ideal when I never had to worry about my 2017 MBP crashing. Luckily I’ve been very fortunate so far with only 2.

Oh well update to 10.14.3 completed so fingers crossed.
Have to say that as a totally non computer savvy 80yo, I have no idea what all this "Bridge OS" Kernel thingy is any way but so far all is well, no crashes with the newish 2018 15".

We need more people voting. It seems it's gradually decreasing but the last poll had more people voted than this one. Or people who stopped having t2 crashes moved on w/ their lives and never bothered to check back.

Just got my 2018 MBP two weeks ago. So far so good. *Knocks on Wood* No Kernel Panics or any crashes so far, so perfectly happy with my purchase.

but you know what if they were KPing they'd be back watching no?

We were having a lot of people showing up saying Oh THATS what's going on and its lessened for sure.

I think the lack of voting and responses show that the issue is probably minor at this point.

And actually i think of all the polls this is the biggest turnout over the shortest period of time. The others were there for like 30-40 days. This one has been three?

Spoke too soon I guess:

I'm curious, the people that are getting constant panics, are they going fully encrypted using the T2 chip?

Nope! I have never used FileVault. But I also didn’t turn off any of the T2 stuff in the recovery mode either, so I think it does some kind of encryption by default, no?

My machine has been at Apple since Wednesday. Still no update on the repair. Currently in “we’re looking at your product.” Not sure how long it is supposed to take.

No, I have disabled Secure Boot, have never used FireVault (don't see the point with APFS), and disabled Hey Siri as all of these things have been known to trigger T2 Kernal Panics when enabled. This is based on many posts in the main thread about the issue.

Just got a KP on a 2.9 GHz Intel Core i9/32GB ram (FileVault enabled) with 10.14.3, firmware: 16P3133

After getting a bit optimistic with 10.14.2 which increased stability (down to 2-3 KPs a week from several a day) I have lost hope that Apple can solve this and maybe it is a real hardware issue with a certain subset of chipsets.

I will try to get the laptop replaced, which I am totally not looking forward with all the hassle and time waste.

Dear god. 3-5 times? Have you sought service?

Yes. It's been sent back to apple 4 times. I have my own senior advisor and they even replaced the entire laptop (new serial number) once so far. The problem is driving me nuts but I will say Apple has taken responsibly for the issue. Thankfully I have a slightly older MBP (less than a year older) that works fine while they toil with the "bad" one(s). It looks like there was a hardware/production change at some point late last year that causes the crashes. A laptop from August doesn't have the issue that a newer (December) laptop has with the same EXACT specs. They SHOULD be the same, but they aren't.

I don't believe this is the case unfortunately. I picked up my 2018 on launch week and it didn't crash until September. . .

Is it a vega machine?

Id also contest that. My wife's was brand new on launch day and still no problems.

My friend just got a top of the line 13" and it had been fine since xmas but yesterday while joining a zoom call it panic'd and rebooted right there in front of us on the table. She knows nothing of all this and looked at me like what just happened. And I could only really say "its a long story. lets install the 10.14.3 update...."

Ouch. No update on my repair yet.

there are always depot repair status notes. you can call and the phone agent can check them.
Yeah, I called and then the rep called. . . no notes unfortunately. He said "maybe they are having a problem recreating the issue."

There are over 200 pages of recreated issues here on the forum :)

But almost no surefire way to recreate them. Some people say you have to listen to music, some people say they were recording, so me people say they were just typing away.

I have both listened to music and recorded and edited hours of voice-overs, and obviously typed away. Still not KPs in the logs.

I can definitely say that 10.14.3 is a definite regression for my Mac (i9 Radeon 560X 32GB ram). I used to get 2 KPs per week with 10.14.2, now two days in with 10.14.3 and I have already 4 KPs and just now got two back to back KPs; first after a full work day and the second one while machine was busy restoring my chrome tabs, windows etc ...

Got an email from Apple a while ago asking a few questions about my keyboard issue, and within about 20 minutes of responding I got another email thanking me for my reply and that the repair was underway.

They didn’t ask any questions about the BridgeOS crashes, or the line in the display, so my assumption is that they were able to either replicate the crashes, or had an idea of what to replace.
