I have this one for the first time. Do I need to start a workout for walking or running in order to count? or just completed at least 3.55 miles per day no matter which method?

Any method will work. It’s accumulative so you might clock up quite a bit of that in just your day to day life.

I've been wondering about that myself. You may want to check the comments in my recent topic HERE.
From a real workout, you may get more stats like GPS, heartbeat, tempo etc.
Best of luck !

TBH, I have paid a lot less attention to these now that they're buried further down in the fitness app menu - they used to show at the top. Now I need to touch 3 times to find out what the challenge is . . . all so I can see a fitness ad tip.

Got the Ring in the New Year Challenge

I wish Apple would have new challenges. How about an Independence Day Challenge, or a St. Patricks Day Challenge. Every year it's really the same and I think after June, there are barely any special challenges.
I agree as well.
Would be nice actually if we got some Australian themed Limited Edition Challenges for us down here.
Id love to see some animated Aussie style stickers LOL.
