だからスプリントは改善するかもしれない??数年で、私はそのためにダウンしているだろう...

My translatation of the original comment to English:

"Will this improve Sprint? I will be all for that in a few years..."

My response in Japanese:

基本的に日本のスプリントである同社は、アメリカ市場の変化を作ることができるのかわかりません。また、ソフトバンクは、彼らが日本の利点を持っている同じ闘争を持っているアメリカの会社を買う方法を理解していない。しかし、私は彼らが同じ式はアメリカで働くことを、おそらく日本で自分自身を高めるために管理している場合、彼らの楽観主義を称賛します。

My response in English:

I don't see how a company who's basically the Sprint of Japan can make a change in the U.S. market. I also don't understand how SoftBank buying an American company that has the same struggles they have in Japan benefits either but I applaud their optimism because, if they manage to take higher market share themselves in Japan, perhaps that same formula will work here.

One thing I've learned in all my years of investing - don't trust the rumors. It's tempting because of the price move today, but if I were lucky enough to have shares, I'd be selling them. Why?

These kinds of leaks almost never happen by accident. We'll likely never know for sure, but my bet is that someone at Sprint let this rumor out to bid the price up. Either to make it less appealing for a takeover or to increase the price they get for the takeover. And if you as the investor don't know, you are gambling if you buy it hoping that it's the latter.

Another recent example of this is the recent "news" of some Foxconn worker strike. We all assumed that it was legitimate because the major news agencies were running with it. But it turns out it all originated from some tweets from an unknown source who claims but is not verified to work inside the company. There is no outside confirmation of the strike, no video or photo confirmation, and Foxconn denies that it ever happened: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-5...report-of-strike-at-zhengzhou-iphone-factory/

Right. But do you have to say it all in UPPERCASE! ;)

If this can help Sprint become more competitive against AT&T and Verizon then I'm all for it. We need all four carriers to become competitive with each other and force AT&T and Verizon to compete on price.

If Sprint is bought by SoftBank, I don't really care what they do, but they better fix Sprint's [non-working] 3G network. 56K Dialup is faster than Sprint's 3G most of the time.

In Engrish: "How can I improve the sprint too? ? A few years later, I'm really down ..."

And thus continues the selling out of our nation to foreign countries.

Not happy to see this. Soon the rest of the world will own us, if not already.

Yeah, because no American company has ever purchased their way into a foreign market...

Ever since the bomb, Japan and the US are so tied together that this sort of thing no longer really matters. Both countries are leading innovators with technology. It's like two people getting into a fight and then becoming best friends after...well, if you take the bomb part out of the story.

I'm about to move two phones/contracts from at&t to Sprint. Mostly due to video chat over unlimited. Are you listening, Richard Stephenson?

To be honest your Japanese isn't much better than that of the first commenter.

PS: market share is 占有率, 同じ式 is grammatically wrong as 式 is normally only used as a suffix, and 働く does not mean "work" as in "to be effective"

if Softbank bought Sprint and came to the US, would I be able to use an American Softbank phone in Japan on their network there with out too much cost hassles?

how does T-mobile American phones work when in Germany?

My brother, his wife, my partner and I moved from AT&T/Verizon to Sprint last week because of the data plans. Capped data plans on an iPhone 5 with LTE doesn't work--that iPhone is like a loaded weapon in the pocket with regard to data coming into the phone. With Sprint, there is no obsessing over data. I think they're onto something . . .

Softbank and Sprint make a hell of a lot more sense than Nextel and Sprint.

And Sprint is seemingly run by the clueless. The Japanese business ethic could be something valuable for turning things around.

Softbank has a 7GB limit for monthly LTE usage in Japan, just like AU and Docomo. They had tried to make it 1.2GB, but raised it under competitive pressure. Not that it would be likely to hit that cap given the quality of their network, but if anything it might mean Sprint will get data caps added should this deal go through.
