Gmail & update

Yeah since this update Safari and Gmail don't work that good. I mean Safari and Gmail never worked that well, but this update made it worse. Oh well I use Mail anyway.

I really didnt have a problem before the update but I went ahead and did the update anyway. This is what I get now so I guess im okay?

Good for Apple to admit that it made a mistake, and then to quickly followup with an update. I hope that this will work for my wife.

Mmmm... Just installed it and now I feel all warm and Java-y.

I was 1 for 2 on the 10.3.9 Java glitch: It installed OK on my Mini at work, and I got the glitch on my home machine. Ran the separate installer for Security Update 2005-002 at home and everything is A-OK, but I'm installing this update on both for extra good measure.

I concur with the general wonkiness of Safari since 10.3.9 - I've also had GMail load funny (though as previously noted, GMail never played that well with Safari) and a few others. I suppose it's too much to expect an independent Safari update for Panther this late in the game before Tiger...

Ok is me or is this update making my Mac mini run extremely slow? I never had a problem until this update. What gives????

Not got for someone who is a new Mac user. :(

ok.... even with this update safari still crashes. I would have to agree too that my mac seems to be a bit more sluggish under 10.3.9 then before. I know I will get getting Tiger when it comes out, but I almost feel Apple might be doing this on purpose. I mean, in the shadow of the soon to be released of the best Mac OS yet, they release a software update that effects so many users. maybe a bit much of a conspiracy, but just seems weird... almost too M$ like. strick me dead

To everyone that has issues:

1. Try restarting first, that may help clear out old files, even though the update doesn't require it.

2. Repair your permissions

(You can find instructions on how to Repair Permissions around here on the forums... and if you need help restarting please don't ever ask me to do you tech support. My patience has its limits, even for a Mac user.)

I just downloaded the Update this morning, so far haven't noticed any difference.

I dont know if it was this update specifically, but I had updated to 10.3.9, all was good then I did the security update and now my hard disk on the desktop isn't showing the available hard drive space, only the total?

It was fine in 10.3.9... I logged into another user's account, still the same problem. I logged in as root and its okay... and on stuff like my portable hard drive or ipod its okay. Any ideas?

yes yes... i am not a novice when it comes to these usual and basic troublehooting. Repairing permissions, restarting, other usesrs / root user, nothing. Safari will not work. I have not noticed any other apps with issues, but like I said, the whole system feels bloated, not snappy like it usually does.

Good for me though that i wasn't asking for YOUR help, just stating where my machine was at wondering a) if anyone else is in the same place I am and b) if they have or if anyone else has hear of a way yet to fix it since Apple has yet to. Chill out, take it easy, and understand that there are many in the mac community whose computers have been affected once again by an OS update which has yet to be sufficently repaired. No one is asking you to answer all the problems with their computers, thats the point of a community.

now... off the soap box, anyone got any answers or hear of anyone working on anything with this issue?

...its true. Watch a Windows user for ~10 minutes. They will play solitaire. Amazing how well a P4 3.6 Ghz HT with a 128MB graphics card will do when you play that game... 1 GB of RAM does well too...

I see no problem?
