if you look hard enough, you will "find" something. Like if I perceive my battery is worse because i jailbroke, then i will notice my battery more while jailbreaking and thus attribute the battery problems to the jailbreak.

Basically saying you may perceive the screen as being less responsive when it is just normal and your looking for an answer.

You can always update to 3.2.1,(assuming you saved your SHSH for downgrade back to 3.2 and rejailbreak) but one could say you will notice it "fixed" but you have been primed to see a difference.

Bottom line is jailbreaking doesn't change the device at all besides installing cydia. all of these "x is happening since my jailbreak" are bogus human perception/logical fallacy issues that your better off talking to your therapist about.

My $0.02

Then again there really could be a problem...or is there no problem at all? Oh **** now i'm confused >.<

my 32g wifi ipad has been jailbroken since Spirit has been out. Mostly working fine but lately I dunno if its me or what but it seems like I have to hit the screen 2-3 times to make selections in menus etc. scrolling seems to still be ok tho so im guessing its some type of software lag. Anyone else experiencing this?

What Cydia Apps have you installed?

I've noticed that the screen digitizer was a little off. I would tap and it would register slightly above where I tapped. Did some googling and found out a Cydia app called "OpenSSH" was causing all the trouble. So I uninstalled it everything is fine.

I became aware of the screen's less responsiveness due to Jailbreaking about a week after Jailbreaking my iPad.

I kept a pretty clean track of what I was installing, trying to figure out what was causing the calibration issues with the touch screen.

Most of the apps that were listed above in this post, Ive tried... and it didn't re-create this issue.

Ive actually successfully recreated this issue 4 times.

Basically, what I found to be the cause is Cydia. It doesn't matter which App you install. It's the process in which you uninstall Apps from Cydia that cause this screen calibration fault.

Mind you, Ive noticed that it was only 'certain' apps that are uninstalled from Cydia that cause this. Ive tried 4 times (meaning, Restored, Jailbroke, installed apps, uninstalled till I recreated the issue), and I couldn't pinpoint which Apps that were being uninstalled through Cydia that were causing the inital issue, because on one account, I installed an App then uninstalled it, and the Screen issue was fine, but on another re-try, I installed the same app, and then unistalled it and the issue was recreated.

Im not entirely sure what's going on under the hood, but I believe its being caused by the Uninstallation process through Cydia.

Well today I went to the Apple Store to replace my iPad. Not for the touch screen calibration issue but for dust particles underneath the glass and dead pixels.

Anyways after restoring from back up with iTunes then Spirit JB, I installed all my usual Cydia apps. Installed each Cydia app 1 by 1 and rebooted after each install. Checked the screen calibration after each install, and it was fine. The known culprit, "OpenSSH" I saved for last and that's when the touch screen calibration issue came up. I uninstalled "OpenSSH" and rebooted, issue fixed.

If you have "OpenSSH" and having screen calibration issues, it's a very very very high probability that it's "OpenSSH" causing it.

Sweet Jebus... YOUR RIGHT!!!

I just uninstalled OpenSSH, and the calibration issue is GONE.. everything is working as normal. Interesting. I suppose Ill just reinstall it whenever I need it, and keep it off when I dont!

Im glad we finally figured it out!

Thanks a bunch mate!

NetaTalk from Cydia may be a better option vs OpenSSH with CyberDuck on your MAC. Just make sure you change your root password.

The only way to change your root password is by using MobileTerminal from Cydia. Unfortunately, MobileTerminal does not work on the iPad. But there is a work around for this. Install iSSH from iTunes and install OpenSSH from Cydia. Check this video out...

After you change your root password you can then uninstall iSSH and OpenSSH.
