Mine is on the UPS truck for delivery later today. It is a 7+ 256GB ATT. I also ordered a Matte Black and I am inclined to return the Jet Black and keep the Matte.

Ordered a matte black 256 GB 7 Plus via the Apple Store app on my AT&T Next acount, have seen no movement on my October 4 to October 10 shipping window, order still "processing."

(One reason I went with matte instead of jet was because of the quoted November window, although now that I've seen the finishes in person at the Apple Store, I think jet black, while gorgeous, would drive me crazy with all the smudges and scuffs.)

It would be nice to receive one of these expedited fulfillment emails from Apple.

Many customers who pre-ordered a Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus received shipping estimates ranging into October and November, but it appears Apple is working hard to overcome supply constraints and get shipments out earlier than expected.

Starting this morning, MacRumors began hearing reports from customers who originally had deliveries scheduled for a month or two out but will now be receiving their devices over the course of the next few days.

MacRumors reader Daniel was told to expect his Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus in November, but will be receiving it tomorrow, while another customer had a delivery scheduled for October 4 to 10, but will instead receive his iPhone on Wednesday. There are also multiple reports on Twitter from customers who have had similar good news, including some improved delivery estimates from carriers.

The new Jet Black iPhone offers both a unique mirror-like finish and a new deep black color, which has made it one of the most popular choices with customers. It uses a different anodization process than the other iPhones to achieve the shine, perhaps explaining why it is in shorter supply.

Reports of improved shipping estimates are encouraging for customers who are expecting to wait until November to receive a new iPhone. When pre-orders for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus took place on September 9, shipping estimates for Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus models slipped to weeks and then months within a matter of minutes, leaving customers who wanted the new color waiting. If Apple can continue ramping up supply, orders may be going out much earlier. Orders placed today on Apple's website for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus continue to have November delivery estimates.

For those who have ordered a Jet Black iPhone or plan to, Apple warns that the device is prone to significant scratching because of its finish, something that has indeed been seen in early reviews and in the wild already.

[doublepost=1474307462][/doublepost]The status of my order has changed to "Preparing for Shipment," but the estimated delivery date has not changed.

I'm kind of bothered by this. I completed my order within minutes of pre-orders opening, got a October 18th to 31st delivery window. Still listed the same.
I wouldn't worry about it, I bet it will update, and you'll get a shipping notification this week.

How many people are actually affected by this?

There's only so many being produced, and currently available. Apple aren't speeding anything up.

Maybe one distributor somewhere isn't going to get as many as they expected in one country.

Ordered my iPhone 7 Plus 128GB Jet Black about 9 minutes after preorders went live in the UK (the site and app wouldn't let me in before that!), and so far my order still says "Processing Items - Ships 4-6 weeks, Delivers 18 Oct - 31 Oct by Standard Shipping".

I hope they'll be bumping up the UK orders too...!

Coming soon b/c everyone is cancelling their orders. I think a lot of people have been turned off by how scratch prone the device is.

Doubt it. There are far more pre-orders than people who peruse web forums getting all scared over micro-abbrasions.

That's why I switched to the standard black. I think the Jet is very nice and great if you wear a suit and it will live in you inside pocket but it's pretty scratchy.

I still have a Jet black coming at some point as I have prepaid. So it's either return or eBay... normally wouldn't consider flipping, but have a new baby...

I've had no updates on my JB iP7+ 128, but keep getting emails from AT&T like surveys about my experience and "you're order will arrive soon! Trade in your old iPhone"

(scheduled for Oct 14-21 w/ AT&T Premier)

Not Verizon, no cc activity, still looking at November 23rd

Likewise. Verizon 256 plus. Mine has been "preparing for shipment" for a couple of days but there delivery estimate is still 10/10.

Those photos of shinny jet black devices look nice. However, they will not look any different than other devices when protective covers are put on them (the the exception of clear covers).

I read an interesting interview in China where a customer explained the reason to get jet black was because it was the "new" color and he gets the new color every year, so that everyone can see he has the latest iPhone. How many American customers buy the unique color just so they can flash it at others?

I purchased an iPod second generation that used Firewire to transfer data and charge. It had a shinny mirror finish. It came with a practical belt clip case that I regularly used. Over time, the backside scratched and lost some of its luster but the music played the same.

I presume Daniel must be in the states as us in the UK are waiting and waiting and waiting! There really is no benefit to pre-ordering with Apple when you see others jumping ahead of people with orders that clearly were placed before them. Also seeing retail outlets having great online stock of the JB + than Apple themselves!

Very frustrating.

If course. Since Friday people have had a chance to see them in stores, determine that they scratch too easy and look a bit plastic and have cancelled those orders for other colors. As a result, all shipping times are improving.

Who knows, maybe the increased production too.

This is not true what so ever! Many who did the ATT preorder thing like myself has yet to get their phones! Still waiting on my 256 7+ MB ordered on 9/9. No movement just pending shipment. Hell you can go into the att preorder thread and see about 50 people still waiting for their preorders ordered on 9/9. Many are walking into apple stores getting their phones there and canceling their preorders. Others from Verizon, Sprint, ect have gotten theirs last week on launch day. We still are waiting! Att had botched this beyond belief!

I ordered a 7+ JB 128 through Apple website with a submission time of 2:18am central. My shipping estimates are 4-6 weeks (oct 18-31). Yesterday my status just changed to Preparing for shipment and my CC was charged.
