I think this calls for another class action suit by all the people who ordered, got delayed and now are getting it sooner.

What kind of a world are we living in where one cannot count on getting an iPhone immediately on launch day?

Shame on Apple what are you doing to us?
Tim has to go!

I canceled the order of my 7+ and decided to go with the regular 7. I went to the Plus model to get OIS and I don't really feel the need for the additional camera. Easier to pocket is a good thing for me.

It's basically on the national news...most people who knew to order day one also probably saw news about the phone scratching easily. I'm sure Apple coming out and saying the phone scratches was enough to turn enough people off for Apple's supply chain to catch up.

Now let's be honest, when you pay $750+ for a phone a micro-abrasion is the exact same thing as a scratch.

Anybody who thinks that anything lacquered or anodized (metal plated or whatever one wants to add)
glossy
will stay that way when used daily may need to learn a few things.

I just received my two Jet Black 256GB's just now. I am now driving back to the Apple store to return them for blacks. The scratch videos have convinced me that the surface is just too fragile and the small scratches would bug me big time.

You should try to sell them. Sold mine on Sunday through Craigslist for $300 over what I bought it for. :-D

Don't worry guys and gals! Before you know it we will all have those beautiful black boxes in our hands! But just how rare is the 7 plus in Jetblack ? I mean I've yet to see one on display at any Apple Store!

Many customers who pre-ordered a Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus received shipping estimates ranging into October and November, but it appears Apple is working hard to overcome supply constraints and get shipments out earlier than expected.

Starting this morning, MacRumors began hearing reports from customers who originally had deliveries scheduled for a month or two out but will now be receiving their devices over the course of the next few days.

MacRumors reader Daniel was told to expect his Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus in November, but will be receiving it tomorrow, while another customer had a delivery scheduled for October 4 to 10, but will instead receive his iPhone on Wednesday. There are also multiple reports on Twitter from customers who have had similar good news, including some improved delivery estimates from carriers.

The new Jet Black iPhone offers both a unique mirror-like finish and a new deep black color, which has made it one of the most popular choices with customers. It uses a different anodization process than the other iPhones to achieve the shine, perhaps explaining why it is in shorter supply.

Reports of improved shipping estimates are encouraging for customers who are expecting to wait until November to receive a new iPhone. When pre-orders for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus took place on September 9, shipping estimates for Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus models slipped to weeks and then months within a matter of minutes, leaving customers who wanted the new color waiting. If Apple can continue ramping up supply, orders may be going out much earlier. Orders placed today on Apple's website for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus continue to have November delivery estimates.

For those who have ordered a Jet Black iPhone or plan to, Apple warns that the device is prone to significant scratching because of its finish, something that has indeed been seen in early reviews and in the wild already.

Thanks. I am not going to go too crazy over it if it does get a scratch because I'm almost definitely going to get next year's phone. (I also don't re-sell my iPhones, I keep them all so I don't worry about any scuffs usually). That said, I do like to keep my devices in the best shape they can be. But honestly, I prefer my phones naked, so that's how I keep them. :)

Sounds good. Yep I'm getting the phone next year too lol

LOL at the significant scratching. Why even bother releasing a model like that which people are clearly going to want to show off. And nice going on the preemptive warning. Perhaps if Samsung warned people the battery might explode on the Note 7 they too would have just considered that due diligence and called it a day.

I guess quality control is old hat now. Maybe that is something else Apple is getting rid of for being a relic of the past.

Not in the UK we still get mugged off, looks like Apple as a US company will make sure that Americans get the 1st batches then give whats left if any to the lower countries (in their eyes):mad::mad:

No, it's because you drive on the left!

It is not unusual for any company to introduce a new product in it's home country first and then go international
later.

That has the advantage that any issues will be known pretty fast and can be figured out locally, BEFORE shipments have to be brought back for fixing.

Apple doesn't "give what is left" they have a sales forecast for every country they plan to sell in and base shipments on production capabilities.

Also, I am sure they stagger shipments based on availability by market, so if the UK is a bigger Apple market than other countries UK will get it first, despite Great success in Kazakhstan .

Are these the phones without a headphone jack? I heard that Apple was going to release a new iPhone without the headphone jack. I s there any truth to that, or is it just a rumor?

Not true. My son is getting his from Verizon tomorrow. Was supposed to ship on the 23rd.

Your still in September though. I'm referring to those in the October - November delivery dates.

I just got off with Verizon again and they said they are not anticipating shipping the October stoke until their respective date to accommodate new sign ups.

Lol! Same here! I preordered the the jet black plus but in 128 gig four minutes into preorder night just to get an oct 4- 10 delivery date. I believe that if we were to have chosen a different color we would have had them in our hands by now. However I'm too crazy for the Jet Black. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Thats all fine and dandy, but TMobile hasnt shipped my 7plus jet black 128. shipping dates are 9/19-9/26. I still havent even been charged. My wifes 7 jet black is being delivered today though.

The iPhone 7 launch sure has been a roller coaster ride.

From no phones, to some phones, to a glut of phones.

The countless hours many would be buyers have invested in trying to get a phone is mind boggling.

I'm sure you'll be getting it sooner rather than later...
and I guess I got pretty lucky, can't wait to get it!

I really only care for one reason... I want both trade-in's done on the same billing cycle. I have never had trade-in's go smoothly and would rather resolve it with one long phone call instead of two long phone calls. :)

I'm still deciding between Jet Black and Black.
Matte Black: Black face plate, stealthy Matte finish being less prone to scratches. But you will get a white box and feel that you didnt ge the premium color.
Jet Black: Black face plate, glossy black premium mirror like finish but prone to scratches and smudges. You get the premium black box but feel that you didn't get the safer scratch free Matte Black finish. Hope this helps.

So the "scarcity" was just a scheme to create news headlines of iPhones being sold out on launch day.
