Overpaid loser. Apple Music will never be taken “all the way” because it has no free tier and Spotify’s algorithms and offerings are better, tenfold.
Wow, that's harsh. What exactly have you done with your life that's so mind blowing? Seriously.

Incidentally, even though earnings are up, Spotify is still losing money.

What a shame. I blame him for the 'New Music Mix' playlist to be broken. I bought Apple Music 7 months ago to use it to discover new music and have been telling Apple music for the same amount of time that I am not freaking interested in music of some low life who can only express himself by cursing and using repetitive R&B/Hip-Hop sounds.

I don't know how many more times do I have to dislike a song before AM realises I can't stand this lower class music.

Fire him already together with the other people who were involved in Beats Music.

Why? TC has done a solid job as CEO. Apple's revenue stream is more stable under his leadership, and he's also diversified Apple's income portfolio (e.g., revenue from services continues to grow).

Again, why should we as consumers care about income and revenue and all this numbers crap when the products themselves aren’t as quality as they used to be? Microsoft also had insane numbers in the 90s, doesn’t mean what they were selling was great.

Has anyone watched the Defiant Ones and seen what an incredible and influential career Jimmy has had?

This guy is no slouch. I am glad he is staying with Apple and is still pushing to make a difference.

Yes, fiscally Apple is doing better than ever. Product-wise, it's a trainwreck, and I'm amazed customers still buy into it in droves. TC is only as good as the last project Steve had a hand in, and their current portfolio is a clutter of incomplete concepts, unchanged 4-year old devices, dongles and discontinued peripherals.

Can't really have an opinion about Iovine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So Apple Music is missing something that is causing Spotify to still be haemorrhaging losses?
And this is a bad thing how?
There we go again. AM losses are hidden because all costs are being aggregated and consolidated in their oceans of cash. Go study business and try to financially dissect these activities before asking nonsensical things.
Iovine was so stupid to admit that they couldn't make money in the streaming business which makes for the best (anti-) cross subsidizing case that market regulators and streaming competitors can dream about.

He is not the guy who will improve Music app or iTunes or Beats, he is the guy who is cultivating relationships between different musicians and Apple!

I think, if he stays, he will add valuable experience and relationships into continuing Apple efforts in music and video.

BTW loyalty, personal values, ... of en employee is much more valuable than the money he makes, especially in big system like Apple.

Yes, there are some problems, but Apple as a whole is doing great.

Product-wise Mac computers and Pro section (Mac Pro, pro applications) should be further ahead, also iOS could also be a little bit farther, but I love that privacy is getting priority!

I am one, who prefers privacy over features!
[doublepost=1515578640][/doublepost]ps: One more thing, I was expecting more deals, such as Hermès, with respect to Apple Watch. Maybe Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Swarovski...

Are you people ****ing for real? Do you actually think that any exec just sits there playing games or just listening to music? Or sits in meetings just looking at his watch? Or makes decisions by flipping a coin?
It’s absolutely stunning how many people here think that there are execs that in essence don’t work. You people are a joke!!!

Other than the lucky few I can imagine no one would think such life forms exist. Claiming or reckoning an exec spends all of his/her time in warmup dinners, poorly-lit cocktail parties, or shuffling deck of cards in pet swinging gatherings is more of a tragedy than a joke. Let’s flip that coin to see how things might work in the real world. You can be a queen bee in a highly profitable hive and still use your sweat bees as traffickers to narco-rappers, you can fundamentally be irrelevant to that specific problem, or you can simply have no vision about what the problem is, if by any chance you had gathered all the honey in the world when pressed-charcoals sang or imitation Honolulu boys had a big pile allowance to scatter around. Now, you know what would be the ultimate joke of flesh? Not thinking any of these through and still defending yobos by calling fellow humans “jokes.”

Apple Music isn’t perfect, but nor is life. In my opinion it’s a great service and it’s introduced me to heaps of new bands and artists. I listen to, and enjoy, more music now than I did before. I’ve tried Spotify and that’s also good, but in the end Apple Music was better for me.

I don’t know Iovine, and I don’t pretend to know (or care) what he does or doesn’t do on a minute-to-minute basis. Some people just revel in toxic negativity.

Yeah, I don't understand what everyone's problem is with him.

Envy. Not an attractive character trait :)

Actually the Watch is doing great now, especially with the new series 3 update.

Jimmy - "Leave a job that pays me millions for doing absolutely nothing, I don't have even have to show up??? Yeah Right. If I learned one thing from my man, Eddy Cue - Take the money and stay!"
