Suck up to Apple so they can own you and your wallet... and Presto! The Devotees here love you.

Translated: you hate Apple and every Apple costumer is now a "devotee".

Even the news that come here is Apple PR to you:

This article is likely to be a product of Apple's brilliant marketing team. Carefully crafted to Polish Apples Brand Image, to further manipulate and control the mindset of the Apple Devotees, it's proof of just how well Apple understands the power of communication. No one is better at making Apple look good, other than the company themselves.

Anyone else is a devotee?

How much does Google/Samsung pay you?

To be honest, buying Beats and all their workers was the Apple's biggest mistake. Apple should have partnered with more real musicians not pseudo music industry workers like Iovine or Dre. Beats products are extremely low quality and they dont seem to have any expertise with UI as AM is still a huge mess. And I don't know which algorithm they use for music discovery, but basically they keep suggesting me the bands I already know over and over! Besides, if I listen to one pop song by an artist I like, I know for sure there will be some crap Rihanna, Drake or Katy Perry under suggested playlists. After using AM for more than 7 months, I still find Spotify more streamlined and easier to use, hence I will be going back to Spotify next month.

I can't think of what Apple would have to do to win me back to making iTunes a home. I've lost count of the times I've not been able to access my music or had my legally acquired music in libraries disappear. I've seen Apple repeatedly push new music in favor of my existing library. They've beat down the podcast world I've which Im a big fan. Apple and Music? All I hear is disharmony. I tried the streaming service and was thoroughly disappointed. iTunes became a maze.

It was good for the first five, six years. I'm dead to it now.

but cmon Apple Music playlists and radios suck compared to Spotify. The integration with apple OS and apps is superb but it's hard to listen to good music as if their algorithms are written by a 5yo.

Apple Music's biggest mistake was forcing it into the bloated Music App when many people didn't want it mixing with their own precious jams.

This. The trial messed up my own music, took me ages to fix all the screwed up metadata and ended up buying stuff again that I used to have on CD (that I gave away years ago). It was random and I only noticed it had corrupted so wildly after a couple of months so my backups were long updated to the wrong versions. Probably about 1,000 songs out of 22,000.

I've got a free 6 month subscription through my phone provider and I'm not going to use it. If it was a separate app I would, can't take the chance again.

Having lived through cloud debacles from them before, I should have known better than to jump right in. But at least I've learned my lesson and not turned on the desktop/doc syncing in Sierra.

Quite frankly, good. The record labels are outdated and need to be shaken up. They take so much from the artist for the up front capital to help them record their next album. Let the artists make the business decisions that directly affect their bottom line if thats the road they want to take. It shouldn't be a requirement to sign a label to make it in the music industry.

There is hope but shame about the name "mycelia" sounds like something from a school Biology lesson:

Imogen famous for Frou Frou - "Let Go"

as well as a "rebranding" needs Branson to get involved (in his retirement)

ps

one of my favourite all time songs: Frou Frou - "Let Go":

I'm not fond of the redesign. Luckily I could hide apple music. If I feel like discovering new music I'll use the Free Pandora or Iheart Radio and then purchase what I like. They removed the 'add to up next' feature which I used constantly. I have to purposely try not to hit the 'connect' feature because I can't hide that. It may have larger text, but it certainly seems less intuitive and packed with lots of unwelcome 'features' for me while also removing useful ones.

Yeah, if you have lots of local music, then it's become more cumbersome to use. They want you to stream everything and if you're not into that, then a 3rd party app might be a better idea. 'Cesium' is a good alternative, reminds me very much of the clean and simple Music app that was on iOS8, before all the Apple Music crap.

"The rights holders, whoever they are, have to do something, because there's a lot of free [music] out there, and it's a problem."

Free music is a problem? For whom? Filthy-rich Apple executives? Free music certainly is not a problem for consumers and people who still have to actually work for their money.
Cool.

What do you do, and can I have your services/skills/talent/experience for free?

"Over ambitious"....."too much, too soon" So basically they screwed up.....overpayed, overhyped and over exposed execs as ever.

Anyway until Apple Music has a simple streaming offering and doesn't try and integrate my libraries its a non-stsrter for me personally.

Making the fonts bigger is a cheap an ineffective way to improve usability.

It's a lot of work to get to things on my SE now everything is so big and elements now overlay each other. It's like they didn't test this on anything but an iPhone 7/7 Plus

Apple should just buy Roon by roonlabs. It's a amazing experience, focus on the artists and it's information. Remember the CD insert? It's kind of the same but you can click on a drummer name and find all the band he/she has played. I've never found so much new music that I like anywhere else. And the focus on audio quality is also spot on. Great service.

Free music is a problem for the musicians who are receiving next to nothing for having their music streamed this way.

I understand that it's a natural inclination to want to pay less for something, but I still feel that a balance needs to be struck between how much we are charged for music streaming and how much the stakeholders are receiving.

Earn too little, and they just won't produce more music (or at least make their music not available on music streaming services), and we would then all be worse off.

The artistes and record labels don't have to lose in order for me to win.

Too expensive. I already own a ton of music. I don't buy more than 144 songs a year an I own them forever.

Last year I listened to over 2400 artists due to streaming services. I would hate to go back to the days where I only had a handful of songs to listen to one some CD's I bought or put the radio on...

That is exactly how disgusting things are. The Label is crying saying: you gave him to much money he could do it all by himself! Why did you do that Apple? We have to keep the artist struggling in order to keep them under our belt! wtf is wrong with you Apple (label says).

What a joke, it's getting and has been so cheap to do things on your own anyway!

Unfortunately big record labels act like cartels. Apple can't do a deal like apple music and then allow artists to make money outside of the labels control. They will shut that down so quick just like this. I honestly believe record labels are mostly doing illegal deals but there are so many desperate people who will sign them there is no option but to go along with it.

While I agree with the general sentiment, Apple please, please, please stay away from Roon. I've see how you treat your own software lately. And I'm about ready to call child welfare.
