awesome app, but one problem...

Action Movie FX is great fun!!!

However, has anyone else noticed this minor-problem with it: when I previewed the app without purchasing any of the 2 special effects packages, it would allow me to load in a movie already recorded with my iPhone (and stored in the library/camera roll) with a button on the lower right of the screen in the blue navigation bar area. But AFTER I bought a special effects package (specifically Air Strike and Firefight) it no longer allowed me to select any of my pre-made iPhone movies, and instead I can now only apply the FX to movies I make on the spot with the app. What happened?! And has anyone else encountered this issue???

I just blew up my parents house and emailed my father the video while he was out skiing.
This app was a great hit at a xmas party last night as well.

Looks like Andrew Kramer and the rest of the Video Copilot team helped make this app...similar to AK's Demon Cam app. Also notice in the Car Smash scene select, Sam and Tino's names...they work for Video Copilot. The lens flares come from VC's Optical Flares software.

AK did the opening title and some effects (including the lens flares) for JJ's Star Trek.

Nice app overall...

Star Trek was dead ever since Voyager. Maybe even since the last season or two of TNG. Though the last season of Enterprise was actually pretty good. Except for the final episode which was a joke.

I really enjoyed the new film though.

Better than Insurrection and Nemesis combined and multiplied exponentially 10 thousand times!

This app is awesome! lol

Voyager was terrible because of Janeway and they completely wasted 7's potential.

I disagree about Star Trek being dead at TNG. The Dominion War portrayed in DS9 was pretty awesome.

From a developer's point of view, how much work has been required for this app? Is it very difficult and advanced or do you think it was rather simple to create?? The presentation in this app is awesome but that's a separate thing

guess I won't be needing anymore after effects, flint, inferno, nuke etc etc for my post production needs

Well spotted!!

You're right, I forgot about the Dominion War. DS9 is the least viewed series for me, but I'm going to start watching it from beginning to end this year. I have never seen it properly in sequence.

But yeah DS9 had the best battles, and a great story arc in the war.

Worth it

I love this app, the realism is awesome and the effects are terrific. The only I wish was that they lasted longer. I can't wait for more updates. It's a damn fun app with a quality look to it.

There's an update on the app.
A free FX called "Demolition Rock!"

Also I saw 2 new packs.
Power Failure and The Jet.
Side Swiped! and Crowd Control.

I agree. Voyager was the first... and ONLY ST series where I actually didn't like some of the charactors. It was impossible for me to dislike any charactor in TNG, and borderline in DS9. TOS, I don't know. ENT, well... it's ENT. Not very likeable, but still... nothing as bad as Voyager, IMO.
