Poor guy, I would sure hate it if EVERYONE and their mama made speculations about my unfortunate medical conditions. Hence, the stress!!

speculation

I too am a physician, and it is certainly not unusual to develop a malabsorption syndrome after a partial pancreatectomy. Difficult, but not impossible to treat. I am hopeful that Mr. Jobs does not have a terminal condition. The longer we have such a brilliant and creative man here with us, the better.

Jobs' health

guys he celiac disease. It basically means he can't have anything with flour in it. I mean he has the signs the most important being rapid weight loss. Celiac disease basiclally means your body can not absorb gluten (flour products) and you feel full all the time. Thus you don't eat a lot and you start to loose weight fast. celiac info. His pancreas is shot from the pancreatic cancer. It is responsible for producing several important hormones and digesting food. I think his pancreas is dead and he has celiac disease.

BRING BACK WOZ

Steve Wozniak
should now take over, lets start a new slogan

"BRING BACK WOZ"

You're the odd one out because apparently everyone here is a doctor today.

Hes been losing weight steadily for almost a year now, it hasn't been "sudden".

Another physician here. However I am an ER Physician so if it aint shot, stabbed, or having a heart attack, I call someone else. I googled the illness and came up with this Time article.

www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1869975,00.html

It helped me to understand that what has been released to the press doesn't add up. Nutritional and hormone disorders aren't what we usually see in the ER, and I am no expert but the guy looks very cachectic in the photo. Obviously he had surgical intervention, but was there radiation and chemo? I agree that the likelihood of relapse is small, because pancreatic CA is very aggressive and he probably would not have done well if it came back. Radiation can also cause the bowel to not function normally. Whipple procedures carry a high morbidity and mortality as well. But it bought him some time and hopefully his body can recover. I am at a loss about what is the root cause of the problem. It is kind of like when you guys start talking virtual cores, processors, cocoa, etc. I haven't a clue!

Imagine how he'd feel if another Windows version falls flat on its face ... 7 perhaps?

I bet he would just have to give up on Microsoft. Maybe he'd move to another country to escape all of the mobs that would form at CES 2010.

Maybe we would see something like this:

RIP
MICROSOFT CORPORATION
APRIL 4, 1975- JANUARY 8, 2010 (CES)

If Ballmer screws up Windows 7, the whole world will beg Gates to come back.

This alleged info is all well and good, and I hope it's true (it jibes with what Jobs said before, and is apparently a common side-effect following cancer treatment of this type) and that it's fully treatable.

But we have a lot of doctors on these forums who have personally examined Steve Jobs.* They KNOW he has a cancer relapse, and they KNOW he has been lying about it ;)

* Actually they haven't. They KNOW he's been lying because... I don't know... just because.

I don't believe this for a second. I base this on the amount of deception that has already taken place over the past year regarding Job's health and i am starting to seriously question the statements coming out of apple. Apple and Steve are playing all of this way to close to the chest and this continued cryptographic BS is furthering the idea that the company can't function without Steve. Steve should just leave the company entirely and if he gets better in a year or two then let him come back. Either that or disclose all of his medical records so that we can put all of this posturing behind us. I believe apple can function without steve but they really need to prove it and now is the time.

RIP
APPLE COMPUTER COMPANY
April 1, 1976 - JAN 14, 2009

I agree with this. Apple has no succession plan for this.

Steve's gone.

http://lefsetz.com/wordpress/index.php/archives/2009/01/14/steve-jobs/

That’s what I thought after reading the following article:

‘Hormone imbalance’ raises question of cancer

Apple cultists never believed Steve Jobs was ill. They bought the rationalization for his non-appearance at Macworld. Apple didn’t own the conference. The timing of the show didn’t always fit the company’s product cycle. Apple was pulling out, so why was it necessary for Steve to appear the final year?

But the financial press never bought this. Traders were up in arms. What’s the succession plan? How’s this going to affect my pocketbook?

There was no succession plan for John Lennon. When a rock star dies, that’s it. The mercenaries at the label rush out product, in the case of Tupac, for years, but creativity stops. They don’t find a new person to fill the role. It’s history.

Apple is bigger than Steve Jobs.

But Steve Jobs is bigger than Kanye. Bigger than Madonna. Bigger than any act being purveyed by the music industry.

1st underlined: No one has the right to those documents other than steve and his doctors.

2nd underlined: Thats exactly whats happening.....why does he have to officially leave when this is the same thing?

Paranoid much?

At what job does being sick mean you need to quit your job? You wouldn't even have to do that if you were the President of the US.

Yeah, because he owes you that.
