Congratulations and welcome to the :apple: family! :) I'm sure you'll enjoy your MacBook! I never thought that I'd be able to get my work done so productively on a computer, but my MacBook Pro has proven me wrong time and time again.

Yeah congratualtions...you've made the right choice going with iwork 08 too...i use it for all my essays and university work now and its so much slicker than office

I'm still having the occasional "growing pains" associated with switching from one platform to another, but it has been pretty much hassle free. It's so funny, I walked into the computer lab on campus today and pulled out my MB to use in one of my classes, and nearly all of my classmates looked over at it as if to say "Woah, what is that killer looking laptop?":D

It really does stand out among the dull black/grey/beige Win-boxes that are so prevalent. Ironic, that macs really were solely the domain of education some 10-20 years ago, but now, all we see are Dell and Lenovo (IBM), with the occasional mac standing out in the crowd.

I've been toying with the idea of using bootcamp to run XP on this MB, but in all reality, I just can't seem to find a reason why I should. Every program that I've needed for class so far this semester comes in a mac-flavored option, and I'm not so sure I want to sully this machine by installing it. That and I don't want to see myself gravitating back to XP at all simply because it is familiar.

Either way, this has been one helluva ride, and I'm sure the best is still yet to come! :apple:

welcome! Im an apple user since 1995, now you will be able to enjoy the good life; not having to deal with sudden shutdowns, viruses, booting, bad oiled machine.... Etc. Have fun with MacBook ( Im actually writing this on my iPhone and It took me just a few seconds..) cheers.:apple:

The more experienced you are with Windows, the harder it is to break old habits. It usually doesn't take more than 2 weeks but I suggest you get David Pogue's Switching to the Mac, or read the Mac Guides here. Welcome.
Or you can go to the newest apple website feature " find out how" and see the video.

Welcome!

I made the decision to buy a MacBook fairly quickly too (The only reason I waited a few months before taking the plunge was because I felt that the MB was close to another revision). As I said earlier in the Who's happy with their Mac Laptop? thread, I've never looked back and just couldn't be happier with my decision. May your MacBook enjoy a long life!
