Given what was disclosed about Ive being behind every terrible MacBook decision for years that is now being undone, I absolutely wouldn’t buy another one of his products

People won’t want to carry around another device, and it won’t replace a smartphone, so… dead in the water?

Yep, all this functionality will be in our phones, either built in, or as an app. Why a 2nd device? Absolutely dead in the water.

Besides, it involves the very much NOT open, OpenAI. They very badly need a name change.

I no longer miss him. I understand his importance in setting the course for Apple design, but their products have gotten so much better and more usable since he left. Minimalism for the sake of minimalism is absurd and should be rejected widely.

Meanwhile, while all this nonsense is going on MR, it seems likely that Jony Ive will get support and funding of Laurene Powell Jobs for this project.
