Okay whatever, now stop with a new iOS version and "S" iPhone model every year and stay on iOS 11 for the next two years to perfect it.

Now turn around and go to the hardware room, see that little box? That's called a Mac Mini and Mac Pro, yeah it looks old, cause it is, fix that problem.

Now go down to user feedback room, see that stack of user complaints printed out? You might not be able to enter the room cause it's so full. Well, pull one off the top randomly, it says, what? Where's the MBP with normal ports and screen size and price that we want to buy? Fix it. Pull another sheet, what? Can't read it because it's almost all white? Yeah like the iTunes interface, fix it.

Okay that will keep you guys busy for the next several years. Thanks.

Just a coincidence that they released two phones this year (8 and 10/X) and skipped the number 9.

I think the ultimate expression of the iPhone was when it first launched 10 years ago. And it's a metamorphis of changes over the years that has made the iPhone what it's become today. But what Apple continues to do, is offer various models and something for everybody. The iPhone X is not for everyone and I don't believe Apple intended it for everyone. But the real test for the iPhone X will be Face ID and how widely it will be accepted over time.
How can you have "metamorphis of changes" (sic)? Metamorphosis means change.

The 8 should've been called 7s and the X, 8.

Of course it was intended to match the tenth anniversary. The leap from pin-code to TouchID is higher than TouchID to FaceID.

FaceID decreased the time spent typing a password from few seconds to practically instantly. You can't say the same from FaceID.

A non-contact UI? Why is that even a goal for a phone? It’s a phone. We hold it in our hands. Why would we want to avoid contact? I understand offering it as an option but not with eliminating contact as a goal.

What’s next? Eclusively using eye tracking for UI interactions? Love to see the optometrist reports of eye strain for that one.

But the company isn't resting on its laurels - Ive revealed that Apple is already working on next-generation designs that improve upon the iPhone X's integrated assembly, with its contiguous chassis and display.

This will come as a great surprise to those saying that people who bought the 8 and are waiting for the XI (or whatever) are idiots. That they should have jumped on the X as later models will only be a little better.

Who would have thought future phones would be better.

I see what you mean. My interpretation was a Metamorphis meaning transition or conforming from one origin to the next in a Series of changes. That's how I define where the iPhone was in 2007 and what it's ultimately transformed into with the iPhone X in 2017. But Face ID being the dark horse at the moment, until users can have hands on with it.

I think he’s saying that the phone itself wasn’t intended as an anniversary phone, but the name is (ended up being).

I get his sentiment but I don't think anything the world's biggest company does is a 'wonderful coincidence'. Especially when it comes to marketing their biggest product.

I'm glad Ives has contributed on such a wonderful device with that notch , he should take is through why it's a great design and how only apple could do it.

He forgot to mention that in-display TouchID is the most difficult. It’s very difficult that it didn’t made it to the final product. I would say this is BS!

Yes he is serious.
Do you think if they had this technology ready one or two years ago, they would wait risking the competition to approach?

You don’t know business.
YES, this technology being ready on an iPhone IS a coincidence with the tenth anniversary.

Even Apple can’t afford a technology like this in the drawer for one or two years.
It was a coincidence a technology like this being ready with the tenth anniversary.

Sooo you’re saying 2 years ago they didn’t know that this technology would be ready this year? They had no idea what would be ready to release this year? I do know business.

I’m pretty sure they got to the point where they were like “hey we need something big for the 10 year anniversary. if we start work on facial recognition and OLED now, it should be ready in time.”

Don’t be delusional. Not everything is a guessing game. They know what they can do in what time frame. They probably had more ideas that won’t be ready for another year or more, but the features we’re getting with iPhone X were obviously feasible for the anniversary.

They pretty much HAD to produce something much different than their norm for this release... And. They. Did. Uncoincidentally.

I think iPhone X is not only very beautiful, but also very original looking phone and last thing I’d like Jony to do is copying Samsung or LG design, I’m very happy Apple did it differently. IPhone X is the only smartphone that has screen reaching very bottom part of the panel and Face ID seems to work like magic, it will be wonderful user experience, just can’t wait.

Jony and his reality distortion field.

The same people that believe Apple released a custom OLED HDR iPhone with Face ID, glass on both sides and wireless charging “coincidentally” on the 10 Year Anni are the same people whose jaws dropped when Ive called the 5C an unapologetically plastic “feat”.

[doublepost=1507715487][/doublepost]Don't you mean NOVEMBER 3?
No, he wrote October 3. I've had one for a week.

He means the tech being ready for the anniversary not the name being a coincidence.

I think most people figured it out that he is referring to the tech and not the name.

However, whatever tech we received in the 10 Year Anni iPhone is really not a coincidence. They plan 1-3+ years in advance. OLED is not new technology. They bought a facial recognition company several years ago too. Qi also isn’t new. They tested the technology, perfected the manufacturing and decided it would make sense for these to be iPhone X features and not iPhone 6, 7 or 9 features.

Something tells me that back in 2014/2015 they had a meeting where they discussed what technology could be ready for the 10 year anniversary and they decided that Face ID, OLED/HDR, wireless charging and stronger glass for the front/back would be ready...

Things take time and Apple can’t work miracles... That’s why they plan in advance.

Unless Sir Ive is not proficient in math where there's the number 9 after 8, this is such a lousy PR talk.
It's labelled X, and called "10," skipping 9. Any person who is familiar with the timing of original iPhone release can put 2 and 2 together.
