It's been said that most people found out about Steve's death on the very device he invented.

It reads something like it was put together by the Apple PR agency. Steve Jobs was an ******* who screamed and belittled employees. The flowering and tributes are quaint for a decade since his death but let's not rewrite history.
This was Jony's memory of his friendship and collaboration with Steve, not yours or the press or rumor sites. Get it?

Apple isn't the same without him. Idk there was something about his vision that really brought revolution to the industry but alas there will always be one of a kind. Apple has become more and more of a generic brand. Sure some cool things here and there but nothing like WOW.

Miss Steve, miss the Apple with Joni and him fooling around.
Miss the heartfelt creativity at Apple back in the days.
This brought tears to my eyes….of profound gratitude of many of those things that Joni spoke about.
Not only in relation to Steve….but in gratitude to life!

That’s what I felt all through Joni’s words too.

Have no idea how I could get access to that text, and beautiful pictures as well of all of them.
I am no subscriber, guess I had a divine intervention on my side.
Beautifully written of Joni.

Steve was obsessed by almost everything he did. Sometimes you need obsession to reach the "impossible". Thats what he did and was. No one was forced to get "belitted" by him. They could have left Apple - anytime. Why did they stay? Because they appreciated to be able trying to reach the "impossible" and finally managed to get quite close.

Ever felt disappointed at work because brilliant ideas were blocked by some idiot management?

I would have loved to work for Steve - unfortunately I did not have the opportunity - or even honour...

It's so sad, this remembrance is behind a paywall. Can someone copy it and post it on a GitHub gist or somewhere public? I don't think I need to pay WSJ to read Jony's remembrance.

Or they had a mortgage to pay and a family to feed...

"Ive believes that Jobs was not distracted by money or power and was instead driven to make something useful for humanity."

Then why the deflecting stance on the iphone 4. "You're holding it wrong", "other phones do it too", "it's not a big deal", and "although we are still right, here's a bumper".

Nah. He was still a ruthless capitalist.

No matter what side of the fence you are on concerning Steve it is a beautiful tribute written by his long time friend. Surely now that the man has gone even his detractors could accept it as a friends heart felt words and his opinion?

People are imperfect. Steve wanted to plow through garbage to deliver his vision of perfection. He greatly appreciated those around him who did good work and vehemently despised those who served to hold things back.
Something that is sorely missing with the new Apple. It seems like as long as you tried, that it is good enough for Timmy.
