the show had at least some sort of closure, but it had so much potential for continuing. i hope nbc un-cancels the show (if the strike goes long enough, they may be forced to), because there are so many directions the show can go now.
personally, i would go for the angles involving the reasons why dan travels backwards and livia travels forwards in time. are there two beings controlling the time traveling, for the same or different goals for sending these people back and forward in time? maybe the backwards one wants to change things by correcting people's lives, and the forwards one wants the person to advance civilization by informing people of what's to come.
and notice how evan died right before dan traveled back the first time. perhaps with him no longer being motivated, they wanted a new eligible traveler to take the regins. i think there are several requirements to being a traveler, all of which we haven't been told yet. i think the mission was more of a revelation mission to him to not quit and to keep going back and saving people.
i personally think the people watching the professor are also involved with cutting out time travelers. i'm thinking there are a third set of beings that don't want the future changed at all.
and most importantly, what about dan and livia? it seems like they are just friends now, but how will their marriages be affected?
but here's something i noticed too. dan and livia have never traveled outside of their lifespans, while earlier time travelers have traveled centuries ahead. is their power fading? is it because of the third being?
lots of ways the show can go, and too bad they can't go, because the show was cancelled.
