Leave Google as the default anyway just to throw a middle finger at the government.
I honestly think they would. None of the other options are feasible

Bing - terrible.
DDG - I find terrible, others seem to like it, but couldn’t handle the traffic increase.
Kagi - paid; non starter. Couldn’t handle traffic
Anyone else?

Plus search engines are going the way of the dodo. This remedy is addressing a problem that the market is already solving.

Yup. They are all junk, outside of Google.

This is such a terrible look for Apple, yes, they display Privacy in everything from advertisements to reveals, that to goto such lengths to uphold a bond with a company known to more or less laugh at the mere prospect of privacy, is rather short-sighted, especially given how AI is all the rage now and surely only to get bigger, yet in this newly-forged territory, Apple has from the start touted user discretion so the divide between Apple Siri/Intelligence and Google Gemini or Bixby or whatever that data vacuum is called should only get bigger and more pronounced, yet Apple ubling-down on their opinion in this legal uproar is almost unbelievable, especially given the fact that Google has already been found guilty of antitrust monopoly stuff, no?

cmon apple.....kick those googleers to the curb, man :(

One judge did. Has the appeal been heard already and I missed it? Can you link me please to the ruling?
Doesn't change the fact that the court decided that what Google did is illegal, so it's not just some poster's opinion. Maybe an appeal will overturn the decision sometime in the future. Maybe not.
