How is it so many people are displaying their desktops with these little banners and links? Is there something I missed out on or are you all just wonderfully gifted in whipping up neat look desktop "summaries"?

Edit: Awesome desktop image there icloud, any chance for a link to that?

If you are forced to deal with all of our partially (in most cases) covered female backgrounds, it seems fair that you can post a male I suppose. Too bad you can get nipples and we can't....silly legislation, whose idea was that anyway? 😛

yeah, Absolut is mediocre vodka, I prefer Kettle One, Grey Goose, or Stoli mostly.
it wasn't a real Absolut Vodka ad by the way, it was something that the HBO series Sex and the City came out with as a part of their storyline.

and you're all right, I haven't seen a desktop that "fleshy", pardon my bold displays 😉 you guys tolerated that well, good men we got here 🙂

this is my current one now, I can only take so much of that kind of thing...

I took that screenshot a week or two ago, but I changed it back today. (I made it myself from a picture I found of Marilyn Monroe)

You can make the dock seperators yourself if your feeling bold (I believe by making a clear picture and then turning it to an application? been a while since I heard how to make them), but here is a site that has them to download.

Regarding the little pictures and banners, its all a part of a program called SnapShooter. The program basically creates a banner for you from a desktop screenshot you take and automatically boarders it to a specific template. The reason I do it is that it looks cool, gives a little preview of what my desktop looks like and brings out curiosity in people. Also continually using a certain template boarder helps to identify your desktops and your name in the forums, and thats sort of a good thing, instead of being just another screenshot you kinda have more of a identity
