I actually don't know of any app that does what CoverSutra does that does it for free. There are numerous that do something kind of similar to CoverSutra -- like ByteController (for controlling iTunes) + Growl (to display artwork) and a slew of others -- but none of them will display the artwork as beautifully as CoverSutra does.

CoverSutra is nice, but if you don't mind not having that silly floating window, and you don't want to pay, just get the following:

1. The Yahoo! Widget Engine (free, and with thousands of widgets, many of which are quite beautiful and useful)

2. This widget for displaying the artwork in a jewel case...

3. And my personal favorite and the only iTunes controller I will ever use, iMote. Coupled with Growl notifications, it's really quite nice. Really iMote could be replaced with any other iTunes controller that supports hotkeys but it's the only one I know of that supports Growl. I use the "Music Video" display type, and it's beautiful. Hit Ctrl-Right for next song, and a little music-video type scroller with artwork slides up from the bottom of the screen, announcing all the informaiton, and then it slides back down within a few seconds. Don't need anything else. Oh yeah, and it's free. See attached file.

Edit: Interesting tidbit, the Chinese government blocks the CoverSutra site, probably because it has the word "sutra" in it? :)

Edit 2: Okay I was wrong, since http://www.kamasutra.com works. O_O Weird.

Very good eyes. :)
I used CandyBar for the icons, and ClearDock for the background. The dock spacers are part of the Albook icon set.

OK, I am having a brainless moment right now. I downloaded the icon set from deviantart, and it is in .ip format. Candybar can't open it, and I can't find anything else. I want to replace my dock icons. Any advice?

I wouldn't get the set from deviantart. Here is the link I would use:

http://interfacelift.com/icons-mac/artists.php?id=410

Scroll down to the Albook section, and get the icons from that.

You should be able to open up Candybar, drag the icons onto the right programs, and off you go.

Any chance of a link to the one with the building, on the bottom left? It's rather nice. :)

I have it on my computer at home. If the OP doesn't get back to you first I'll send you a PM with an attachment.

I think the picture in this post:

https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/3898579/

is possibly one of the best pics I have ever seen. I am trying desperately to get it......but was wondering if anyone knew where it came from, and if there was any similar type stuff out there. My IMAC needs this pic!!!:)

The pic is surrounded by a black background. You could probably cut out the image itself, and paste it into a photoshop document with a black background and it would look exactly the same.

I am on a windows box at work with no photoshop right now, but I whipped this up for you in paint.

Get the icons from here instead....that'll probably give them to you a format you can actually use.

I'm sorry this has probably been asked several times but is there anywhere besides interfacelift I can get dock icons? I can't seem to find an alternative for Adobe CS3, iweb and keynote
