Just ran my shipping confirmation by an Apple rep who told me the delivery date IS in fact accurate. Just wanted to share... Sorry if this has already been posted.

This must your first apple product, they will make fed ex hold it till the 24th.

Mark my wor....text, you won't be getting your phone before the official release day.

I admire your wishful thinking though.

my e mail from apple stated 23rd delivery also. but when you track it through the fedex tracking number it says the 24... now why would i think apple knows more about when fedex expect it to be delivered the fedex does?

a few might slip through the cracks, but you are looking at a 24th delivery is my guess. it will sit somewhere between here and china until its on the truck

Right! Because they are DEFINITELY doing it the same this year. We'll see, people.

Maybe they're indeed staggering it because they learned their lesson from past years and the craziness surrounding activation. WHOA!

Try working in a Delivery Depot that will be handling the iPhone deliveries - We "Love" an Apple launch we do

they do not mind the craziness. even bad press is press and creates a stir. they love it. they would love for the world to stand still while all the new iphones are activated at once. the media will not report how unorganized the release was, but rather report how crazy the demand was.

A lot of ipads were delivered a day early in the UK, so it is possible.

However, the main difference with the iPad was that it was already available in other territories anyway (namely USA), so releasing in the UK one day early wasn't such an issue... this Thursday is the first release of iPhone 4 though. ;)

There hasn't been a single report of a Fedex tracking number showing the 23rd. No matter what the Apple site says, Fedex is holding them to the 24th.
