Chiming in to say that I ordered a 42mm SG Black watch around 7:30pm CST, along with a 42mm white sport three days later and neither have budged an inch. Since others mentioned the white sports would ship faster, I'm just seeing which ships first. I'm fine with either one :D

I truly wonder how many people ordered the same one as I did. 42mm with Milanese Loop because all I see is the June delivery date and I do believe that it won't change for sometime.

I ordered the same one, but didn't order until 4/14, and yeah, I haven't seen anyone who ordered AFTER 4/10 with any date earlier than June for that model. Looks like we will be in it for the long haul.

I ordered the same watch but ordered it on 4/10 and I got a update yesterday to 5/29 to 6/11 from just June

If you ordered this model 4 days before me, and yours isn't getting here until between 5/29-6/11, I'll be seeing mine at the END of June. Smh, this was a terrible rollout....2-3 month waits for pre-orders.

38mm Sport w/white is out for delivery
42mm Sport Space Grey is still 'June' :(

At least the wife will be surprised today

(ordered both on 4/14)

Within 5 minutes from the 0:01 live moment, delivery was about June (SG 42).
This is the reason I didn't rush the order, and ordered on the Sunday (04/12) in the UK.
Still June, no movements, nothing.. Hope to get it before my birthday (06/12) but somehow I think it will be late June, just before going live in other countries.

Here is my 2 cents worth:

I think Apple have gotten this pretty wrong from a management perspective.

I pose the following:

- Apple has released the Watch without being close to inventory ready.
- Yes short supply = media hoopla, buzz, consumer lust etc. But this? Supply so short of inventory they can't supply more than a quarter of day one preorders? Supply so short they can't announce release dates for wave 2 countries etc? (on the earnings call they are hoping for late June but there is a lot of wave one country ordering to be done in the meantime). Supply so short they are getting bad press and fans upset.
- Apple took 3 years to design and refine the product prior to launch and when they launched they put their heart, soul and reputation for can't-lose success on the line. They didn't do so in an Apple TV hobby way, they went big. Major launch at the time of the iPhone 6 no less, Tim Cook even raised his arms in triumph and every superlative known to man has been heaped on this by their executives. Yes buzz and spin is part of their marketing, but they simply wouldn't do this if they didn't think they had a hit on their hands. Their investors would skin them alive if it was not a hit.
- If Apple was so confident, why so few units able to be shipped at launch?
- Apple took 7 months to release this product from keynote to launch and had a very long time to do their best at estimating the various model/strap demand equations based on various research and web analytics on "favouriting". Was this going to be perfect? No, so many variations. Have they gotten close to being "good" at least? Nope not by my measure.
- Apple had 2 weeks between pre-orders and "release date" to get their supply chain in order.
- For those ordering Sport and Sport bands, the lead times are all over the place. Two weeks is definitely enough time to box and ship to launch countries based on band selection.
- It looks like they knew they had the issue of 38 models to forecast and they didn't do a good job of allowing their supply chain flexibility to swap bands based on demand.

I truly think they haven't been able to deliver on the launch dates they advised at the keynote of "early 2015" and then Tim Cook's "April is part of early 2015" quote. It seems they got so wound up with trying to make an April launch that they have misfired. Rather than delay and get things right for a nice roll-out, they have caused their early adopters angst.

...Lol, doesn't even feel like the Apple Watch is even for sale to me.

Maybe we've been blacklisted #

Have you ever returned stuff to Apple in the past?

Either that, or Apple is acting all "unpredictable" to undermine the scalpers? Maybe even giving suspected scalpers very late shipping dates in the hope they just give up and cancel since they won't be able to make a premium. It may be worth it to Apple since:
  • Scalpers (or even just the perception of them) caused a lot of ill-feeling in recent launches. Really sucked the fun out of launches.
  • Likely caused customer-satisfaction issues by exporting new products to parts of the world where Apple was not ready to service/support them.
  • Caused unnecessary labor costs processing returns when many realized they weren't going to make a killing.

If so, I'd guess some innocents will get caught in the crossfire. It's all certainly very odd right now.

Wow, my white sport watch was purchased around the same time. And I am still processing. But this gives me hope I will see something within the next few days.

Where are you by the way?

Since other watches are delivered early, but some models are 'June'.
Meaning Apple got the hardware ready, in most cases enough Alu cases and blue sport straps. Problem could the the black strap, or the space grey case.
Or they have all the parts, and work on one specific model each day to be more efficient and deliver more watches.

But this is not a release as I would expect from Apple. Polls showed us the Sport Space Grey would be populair (about 30% of total sales), and they had at least 2 weeks prior to delivery to make these things after orders where placed.
Shame on Apple for not listening to the market, early 2015 is becoming mid 2015 for use June waiting enthousiasts :(

Unless there is an actual problem with either the Space Grey or black bands. They could listen to demand all they wanted, but if something went wrong in the process for either of these, knowing demand won't do a hill of beans worth of good.

The point is, you have no idea why there is a perceived(but probable) delay.

Have you ever returned stuff to Apple in the past?

Nope! Just a loyal customer waiting for my watch. But your arguments do make some sense. Now, since I'm a loyal customer, who's never returned (or scalped) anything, maybe my watch will ship faster ;)

p.s. Better supply at launch would make it more difficult for scalpers to make money.

Just wondering, has anyone who ordered a classic buckle in a 42 steel seen any movement beyond june? I'm still processing my 12th june order and I'm starting to go a little cuckoo watching the screen and waiting to change  I think i need to get out more!

Good luck to you.

I wouldn't be surprised if all new orders are being dumped in the June delivery bucket until Apple's computers have time to cross-check your details against various "suspicious-buyer" parameters? Once you pass that hurdle, it seems you go to the front of the queue.

Pretty clever, if that's what they're up to.

p.s. Better supply at launch would make it more difficult for scalpers to make money.

Or it would just encourage even more scalpers to jam up the stores?

Just out of curiosity are you a developer or ever just signed up as a developer?

When you put your order ?

When did you order it? And have you been charged already?

I did put my order at the 27th. And yes, I have been charged.

Funny story about that by the way: just before the status changed, I went into my PayPal account and saw that the payment was being authorized. A few minutes later, the payment was completed. So I went to the order page right away, refreshed and there was it... Preparing for Shipment! :D

No i am not a developer or signed up as a developer. Will they ship it today as is still say preparing for shipment?

Are there certain windows when Apple updates the order status, or could changes come at any time of the day?
