I hope you are joking! Apple is by no means short on cash. Did you see their last earnings report? They have close to $15b in Cash & Equivalents at March 28, 2015. As others have posted, an Apple Care charge means the actual watch shipping is imminent.

I'm british... I have a dry and sarcastic sense of humor... it was a joke. But thanks for the note on Apple Care charge... will keep you posted.

Be careful to wish for the right window to open. My order was accidentally canceled and I had to get it reinstated by a supervisor. Still waiting on mine ordered on the 11th.

I'm with a lot of you here...I would say overall I'm an incredibly patient person so the wait doesn't bother me what DOES bother me is the total and utter lack of communication from Apple about the wait times.

I ordered the morning of the 11th, got a confirmation email immediately following and it'll be 5 weeks soon without one lick of communication from them about why exactly a watch is taking so long to get to me. Obviousky I'm tech interested so I read here and keep up with tech news so it's no surprise but really? A Fortune 500 company (arguably the most influential on the planet) can't send me a courtesy email to let me know any information on the product I've ordered from them? They can't update my account with a shipping estimate? After over a month after an order and all they can give me is a full month expecting time (June). By most all standards that's pretty piss poor. If a product isn't ready for prime time it's not ready for prime time. Hold your cards. I know their board had pressure on them to meet their Early 2015 release but I don't know if this launch exactly qualifies as 'meeting' that anyway.

Sorry, I know the last thing this forum needs is ANOTHER jackass going on about their first world problem of not having an Apple Watch. It is just a bit bothersome. Maybe because we hold Apple to much higher standards; for better or for worse.

Well said. I'm in the same boat as you. 5 weeks and nothing. As much as the waiting bothers me, I know that I'm in line to get one and it'll be here eventually. And you're correct, it is unacceptable and as much as it's a first world problem, I don't think Apple normally operates like this. I've never had a bad experience pre-ordering until now.

Applecare gets charged first and then the product should show and then processing changes to shipping. This could take a few more days or a few more hours just depends when Apple want to take your money. It is a good sign though :)

What watch purchased on 4/25 is shipping quickly? SS WSB, 38mm perhaps?

Long time lurker here.

I ordered the 42mm SG BSB On April 20th. Just this morning I saw I was charged from Apple for the Applecare. Hopefully this means I'll see some updates on the order, soon. Also, I hope this means those that ordered before me will be getting an update on their orders, too!!

I purchased the 42mm Sports Black Sports Band on April 25th... so I am surprised that they've taken money for the apple care. If people are saying that apple care is taken not too long before the watch is charged then maybe there's a big shipment coming? But I'm sure there are still plenty of people before me.

You may be right.

5 UPS planes have departed Shenzen en route to Anchorage today.

IDK, I ordered on 04/10 and Apple Care was charged immediately. I'm here 5 weeks later with no updates.

That's the main reason why I didn't purchase Apple Care Plus with my watch. I've heard way too many stories of others being charged for Apple Care before they even got their watches. So, I waited a few days after getting my watch, then called Apple and added Apple Care Plus. ;)

Huh thats strange, not unheard of as I have read the same thing on these forums. I ordered 4/12 and have yet to be charged for Applecare or my watch, ordered a WSB a few days ago as well and while that is still processing it does have a ship date. Have yet to be charged for that as well. The status change is much more important than bank charges.

Thats good to know.... Thats what I wanted to figure out... sounds like there may be no hard and fast rule on this. Who knows!!

Looking at it, it's an "Authorization Charge." but it's the same amount as the AppleCare. When I first ordered I was charged the same thing, then it was cancelled a few weeks later. Now, this morning the charge is back.

Meh. I ordered, I'll wait. It gets here when it gets here.

Oh! Hmm. Well I haven't been checking my CC because it's empty and unused except for preordering these two watches. I assumed the two charges right after ordering were AppleCare? But I just called my CC (unrelated) and those charges dropped out. Now, one of them is back. Does that mean there might be movement?? We were thinking of canceling too :/ So I better decide.

42mm SG BSB
Ordered: 4/26 9:58 PM EST
Ships: June

Just saw a pending charge for AppleCare, spoke to a rep and here you go, hope it helps.

So we do authorize your card to make sure the card is valid a little bit before it ships, but we can’t say for sure that it would be shipping early. But we can definitely look up your order to see what to expect for now if you’d like. So I am showing that it does still look like we did run a pending authorization for the amount of the AppleCare, but it doesn’t show as an authorization for the Apple Watch, so we are still expecting a June shipment right now.

Any particular reason Apple would run a second authorization after already submitting a preauthorization on 4/26 for both the watch and applecare?
That I can’t say for sure, we do typically run an authorization a few days before the order ships to make sure everything is looking good on the order, so it is possible that your order is getting close to being ready to ship, but we can’t say for sure since it does currently still show as a June shipment

Honestly, I'd wait. If you cancel you'll still have to wait until you re-order or they get into stores. If you wait until the stores then you've got to take the trip, pack up the kids, fight traffic, probably wait in line for the watch (assuming there are lines), etc... I think it's less of a hassle to wait for the preorder.

Nice ! I ordered it on 04/10 Sport , still waiting in the "Process stage" A buddy of mine already received 2 but (38mm)

I believe they are just putting a PENDING charge on to test if your CC is valid. It will not show up in your owed balance until if and when any watch ships.

This is true. My CC cycle just closed and had no Apple charges, despite a 04/10 preorder. The AppleCare/authorization charges disappeared.

38mm is the magic word here if it was 42mm I would be more excited.

I'm giving mine another weekish to change from June to a delivery range after that I'm canceling.

Prepare to cancel then. I don't think it will change. I thought Angela was supposed to give weekly updates? I remember her saying that in a video I saw. Funny how we haven't heard the updates.

42mm SG June delivery ... My credit card was just charged $49 for AppleCare, would that indicate that a status change is imminent?

Don't think so. Most have had that charge. I guess it's something their system does to make sure the cards are still valid with funds. I wouldn't put too much hope on it shipping soon. But I'd gladly stand corrected if it does ship early. :)
