they want you to buy both. put a little more thought into how can the order of the introduction of both products affect the decision to buy both instead of one or the other.

Who writes these posts? WSJ says:
"While suppliers are gearing up to ship the new 12-inch MacBook Air in large quantities in the second quarter, Apples launch schedule remains unclear, the people said."
The second quarter starts April 1, about 3 weeks after next week's event. How this translates to the laptop not being available until June, the end of the quarter I'll never know. And it says "in large quantities," ie, full production takes a little while to ramp up, as usual.
Alright Jim Dalrymple - We're stupid if we believed the most credible recent rumours before today?
NoooooooooooooooooooNow all we'll get will be a MBA spec bump.
Post a million rumors and then you're bound to be correct for at least one of them...
Unless the Apple watch launches this March which I doubt, then I reckon the Retina MacBook air will still launch next week.

Anyone who thought we'd see a new Air at this upcoming event is kinda stupid. It's for one thing; and one thing only, the Apple Watch.

Make sure you do use Linux, and erase the spyware Lenovo ships.

Yeah...
I was just going to point out that 9to5mac also interpreted the small (vague) quote exactly the opposite of macrumors. They also believe that the quote means the new MBA could be announced next week.
I guess we'll see soon.
WSJ footnote suggests 12-inch MacBook Air could be announced by Apple as early as Monday
