Tell you what, Jura. I’ll buy that if you replace my AirPods when they fall off.

Agree with this sentiment. But I’m less worried about gravity causing anything to fall off/out than I am a street thief just snatching it. I wouldn’t dangle anything that valuable off my backpack, especially if it’s out of sight behind me... Lightning ports may hold some order of magnitude of the AirPods and case’s combined weight, but it still seems an easily-breakable connection by human-strength standards.

Your assumptions are your own.
The point of contention was on the statement "the lighting port is not a handle."
You swinging an iphone around doesn't negate that.
If you're happy swinging your devices around while connected to a docking station or some other thing more power to you.

My apologies to the vendor but this is a case of a solution which has already been solved by much cheaper, safer and widely available products such as the one below.

No worries about lighting port.
Less worries about magnetic lid popping open and Airpods spilling out.
Better protection all around.
And they do have some really slim cases so bulk should not be a concern.

I got the Twelve South AirSnap. It's leather, has a top with a metal snap on it, and it also frees up the port for charging. It has a 'swivel clip' that is rather small, but it works. It's very secure, and the same price as this titanium product. I paid less for it on sale a while ago, but it seems to work very well, it's just kinda bulky. Yes, there are a plethora of products out there, and now there is another one.

If I was putting my AirPods in a compartment with a leash like others have said, I'd find this product well suited to the task. *shrug* BTW: I chose leather because it's far more durable than silicon. To each their own. It's a big(ger) market. 🤙

Oh, I like the look of their titanium clip. Cool!

Holy overpriced Batman...

You can buy an actual protective case with a carabiner for cheaper than that, one which would likely be much more difficult to yank off.

The only thing "novel" about this is that it plugs into the lighting port, and that novelty seems to also be its weakest point. Count me out, I'll stick with a pocket.

Seems like a frivolous use of titanium given the overall design...

Titanium is just a marketing selling point, it’s not really necessary for a carabiner, aside from its lightweight properties (If you were hanging the AirPods from your belt loop on your pants), but one could use other carabiner clips that are just as durable, but might add a little bit more weight with a different metal.

In This instance, titanium would just increase the price point, which would make this less attractive, consumers don’t care about little things like that for a carabiner clip.

I haven’t been able to understand why Apple never built the AirPods case with this use in mind. They already have the parts and accessories made.

The Siri Remote for Apple TV has a slightly modified lightning port that accepts the Remote Loop very securely. The Remote Loop has a male lightning connector that has 2 metal tabs on the side to hold itself in the Lightning port of the Siri Remote.

Why they didn’t build the AirPods case to accept the Remote Loop is beyond my comprehension.

Solving a problem that doesn't exist.....

They’re not solving anything, your comment doesn’t apply here. They’re offering an alternative way to carry the AirPods for convenience, the concern is the vulnerability for the AirPods is exposed through theft hanging from the carabiner and security of the AirPods if they fall/break.

surely you understand that titanium is denser than aluminum right? In the same dimensions, it’s heavier.

It needs a stretchy loop that you slip around the case. That would keep the lid closed and the case on the carabiner.

Very clever how they’ve zig-zagged the titanium to create a spring.

Found a similar carabiner on amazon. A video review highlights a problem: the spring moves sideways easily. A gentle twist and it unlocks: https://www.amazon.com/review/RCCGPDPAZ0XLK/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07RBNHCDG

The supplier of that similar carabiner also states: “Press times: >8000 cycle operating life”. Not encouraging.

I didn’t know that. Good info. Thanks.

I’d always thought it was less dense, but really it’s stronger. That means you can use less of it for a lighter product (compared to, say, steel)

Maybe that's why they over designed this clip?

Over designed clip?

It’s undeniably cool. I want one.

The sad thing about that one is that the visual elegance of the spring is lost by two ugly bolt-on plates.

Just wonderin‘; is transparent titanium a thing?

That is the first thing that I thought of the double clip. I want one. I *need* one... I see your point about the plates, but We would still know what lurked underneath. I wonder if the stock is thinner, and the plates were a 'fix' for the deformation of the springs. The would, mostly, spring back I'd imagine.

It's too bad that so many things are so poorly designed, and executed.

When I was in college, THE speaker system to have was the Klipsch (somethings), so I bought their 4.1 computer speakers, thinking they were going to be amazing. Yeah, no. Sad... Poor execution, at that time. I hope they fixed the issues eventually.

Merry merry...

This article states that it's also for the Airpods "Pro", but on the direct website, it only states for the regular Airpods 1 and 2. So will this fit in a Pro?

Can anyone please confirm if these fit on the Airpods PRO? On the direct site, it only has for the Airpods 1 and 2.
