Perplexity gives you a really personalized feed? I'm surprised; maybe I didn't set it up right, but when I had the (free tier) on a device I was just getting very general breaking news type things.
I’m not 100% sure how customized it is to me, but I heart the articles that hold my interest and it seems that the majority of what it gives me are within that range. It’s a mix of world news, science and tech.

There are so many things that are frustrating.
- You can follow 200 or so topics but 190 of them will never appear in your feed. The only categories you seem to get are top level ones like Politics, Football, Apple etc.
- Even if you block the entire sports category from appearing in your front page feed, you still get lots of sports stories from all your categories, like Football, Tennis, F1 etc. Why don't they restrict those to the dedicated sports tab?
- Blocking topics isn't reliable, because I still see stories about lots of topics I've blocked.
- The font sizes change from publisher to publisher. If you change the app to a bigger font size then it should be uniform across the app, but some publishers seem to insist on having smaller text than everyone else, fancy font types, or lighter text in shades of grey that you can't read
- After years of waiting there are still no puzzles outside of the US and Canada. How hard can it be to roll out the crosswords to other countries when the software is already up and running?

They should have just bought Pressreader and left it alone

I've never used Dark Sky, I jumped on the Apple bandwagon quite recently, but I have now learnt that it was integrated into the Weather app. I have to say, the Weather app in Mac OS is probably the best I have ever used, at least among the ones that ship preinstalled (I should say I have never looked for alternatives).

Well, if you knew what you were talking about, and used Dark Sky in the past, you'd realize how utterly awful Apple's weather app is.
