i feel like i'm the only iPad owner who really doesn't care for any keyboard attachments. :p

attaching a keyboard transforms it into a small laptop, and i already have a much more powerful laptop if i want that class of device. i'd much rather just use the iPad for the areas where it excels: touchscreen centric activities!

i do understand the keyboard's benefit if its going to be your only device, but for my needs i'm always going to need the laptop, so i'm just sticking with the pencil accessory (which i love)

tried a few keyboards in the past, but didn't really need them with the ipad.

Great thread, I love positive threads that echo my feelings. Love the pencil, I got both the Smart Cover and the Smart Keyboard. I keep the cover on it for the most part, when I go to the office or know I'm doing a lot of typing I'll attach the Smart Keyboard so I get the best of both worlds.

I'm also not using a keyboard with my 12.9 iPP. I do use the iPP as a laptop replacement -- I still have my iMac, but I do about 70-80% of my work on my iPP. But I just use the on screen keyboard. When I first got the iPP, I thought I'd use my existing Bluetooth keyboard with it, but I'm finding that I can type almost as fast on the 12.9 on-screen keyboard as I can on a physical keyboard, and not having a keyboard attached makes the iPad that much more compact and portable. Yes, the Smart Keyboard is compact, but it still adds weight to the iPP. I just have a very light TPU case on my iPP, to keep it as light as possible.

Verizon is offering $250 off iPads with a new 2 year agreement right now. This pretty much means you are getting the service for free ($10/month for 24 months = $240 you have to pay them over the next 2 years for service).

I think this just started on May 1st, because when I bought my iPad April 27th they were only offering $100 off for a 2 year contract (so I just paid full price for mine rather than signing a contract).

They are calling it a Mother's Day promotion because it ends Sunday May 8. The "contract" doesn't change the cost of the existing service, so what you are really agreeing to is a termination fee for the next two years. Didn't matter to me because I have had Verizon for 10 years and don't plan to change. The $250 applies to the 12.9 also. You have to pay in full for it, there isn't a monthly financing option with the discount.

Two finger cursor feature ?? What is that ?
When typing with the on-screen keyboard of the iPad Pro, place two fingers on the keyboard for a moment, then move them and watch the typing cursor on the screen :)

Am I the only one who end up typing extra letters when trying to trigger this feature?

Just bit the bullet also. It is a cool device. Got tired of carrying iPad Pro around and wanted to lighten my load at least a little bit. Bought it at AT&T and got20%off of 3 accessories. So I picked up the smart key board, pencil and 10 foot cable. looking to pick up the silicone cover as well to give it some extra protection. Any good apps I should look at?

Yea my dumb ass just spend $70 on it about an hour ago

And it was made specifically for your device with cutouts in the precise locations. It is also thick enough to bypass the camera bump when laying flat. It's a quality case that protects a large investment. You'll thank yourself.

Congrats, I have the same model (with cellular) and I love it. Just curious, what did you upgrade from?

Getting the pencil and keyboard add a whole new dimension of productivity to the device. I don't draw, but I do annotate documents a lot on my iPad. Combined with the Pencil-supported Microsoft and Adobe apps, and a Cloud service like Dropbox or OneDrive as a makeshift file browser, it's actually a lot of fun to do.

Also, be aware that the Smart Keyboard will draw down the iPad battery a bit faster, since the keyboard does not have its own power source. Not a big deal, but something to remember.

Agreed on the productivity uses for the Pencil. At the office I often review documents in PDF, and even though I can do it just fine on my company-issued desktop, I now use my 9.7" Pro and Pencil because it allows me to stand up and move around while I review and annotate a lengthy PDF. It's a healthy practice, kind of like using a standing desk. And in many ways it's better than my desktop, because the PDF Expert app combined with the horsepower and RAM of the Pro and the quality of the display makes it possible to page through even complex PDFs lightning-fast (faster than by Core I5 desktop) and see a perfect representation of the colors of the PDF. It's really nice.
