That thing is in PERFECT condition! Was it EVER used? Wow! What a find! Congrats!!

The original owner bought it for a family member, and she didn't want it. It was used a handful of times over the years for a total of a couple of hours. Nothing really at all. They had everything original that came with it down to the plastic wrap that went around the PowerBook. Even the original twist ties that were wrapped around the cables!

The Yo-Yo adapter doesn't even have a scratch on it. I feel truly lucky to have gotten lucky enough to buy this PowerBook. I love it.

I have upgraded the Hard drive to 120GB. Got an Airport card and a wireless G adapter that the owner sent. I have a SuperDrive to put in it too. It has 1GB of Ram and Tiger is more than quick. Also, I have a newer Tech high capacity batter on its way.

Just think. Jonathan Ives who designed both the Tibook and the Mac Book Air... also loves the retro industrial look of the Tibook/MBA's black keys off of the grey metal. The MBA is really the son of the Tibook.
never thought about it like that...

Its a 500mhz. You would be surprised how quick it actually is. I can do garage band, iPhoto, iWeb, and it runs office 04 better than my intel iMac. I love it. It's cool to be retro, and believe me I don't use it for the speed. I use it for the style and the vintage appeal. Plus, its fun to go back in time :)

Bring it up to Shreveport and I'll give you your money back for it:D I tried to get one of those on ebay last year for my first mac but couldn't find a good one so I got a macbook.

LOL. I can tell you it would take more to get this thing away from me than anyone on earth would probably want to spend. Honestly, it deserves to be in an Apple Museum. It is that perfect.

Here is mine, working in tandem with the new boy on the block.

Penryn has taken over the 3D, rendering and heavy lifting and TiBook does Photoshop, Office and iTunes.

Wow, that is a very nice little duo there :)

It is great to see so much enthusiasm over these old machines.

Side by side the Ti definitely looks nicer than the MBP. It's a more interesting, polished design. I've always liked it and said on many threads the same.

You know, its funny. I looked at the MacBook Pro as kinda tired. I mean is just an Al PowerBook with an isight. I look at the Ti and find it much more appealing. I wish Apple would bring back a special edition MBP that is Al, but painted like the Ti, and with the black keyboard.

I thought I would throw up a few more new pics.

Wow. My favorite Apple of all time, you are lucky! I can't believe my old 667 TiBook was cracked when it was stepped on, sad day.

One of our cats almost walked on mine last night. And this cat weights almost 20 lbs. I yelled and scarred the cat so bad it jumped straight up in the air and ran in the opposite direction :)

I would have been crushed if something happened to my piece of history.

If I were you, I'd get comfortable about taking the hinge covers off and putting a drop of oil in there once in a while. The hinges on them were notorious for seizing and breaking. The iFixit guides are brilliant.

Congrats on your buy. My parents got one back in 2001, and its still working (albeit broken hinges and a stuck battery). Still has its original HDD as well. That notebook took a real beating, and it stood the test of time brilliantly.

Here's my Ti500 bought in April 2001 still works great, battery not so good anymore, but then again never use the battery. sitting where it always sits with all it's dust on top, hooked to a Dell 20 inch via VGA.
