Just bought ATV

People don't think much of your modem/router...

So I Googled the make/model and found several other sites that had much better reviews than the one you chose. In fact, it might even seem the one you chose was the one with the worse ratings. Are we to presume Cnet is more trustworthy than Best Buy, Staples and Google themselves?

And while I am not trying to defend the product (I have a Motorola Surfboard cable modem), I would advised anyone to keep their LAN separate from their WAN and not run it through the same product.

For instance, my LAN has several router and switches, none of which are Motorola products, and the connectivity of iPAD/Phone devices to a Pioneer AVR via their implementation of AirPlay sucks big time. Do i blame the LAN products? Nope. I blame Pioneer. LOL

BTW, I own several aTV3s and do not have the connectivity issues exhibited by the OP. Just not willing to take the worse rating for the OP's product as gospel.😀

I guess my only question really is why now? There is an expected refresh coming soon

I feel horrible about that product, total waste of money

Mirroring is laggy from mac to atv, no proper sound no proper video
try to mirror a video game from iphone, no sound no proper video
i am thinking of returning it

Well that's too bad because my ATV 3 works perfectly. I have mirrored my late 2013 iMac for Photo Booth to entertain my kids, for Netflix, mirroring from any iOS device that I have, and of course streaming my 1TB+ iTunes library.

And depending on the game and iPhone, it might not be fully supported by the game's developer. I'm not sure about that one though.

Considering how many people that have had no problems at all with their ATVs it must either be 1) your ATV was defect or 2) something else in your signal chain (e.g. *not* the ATV) is not working properly.
