Solution: Buy some tritium capsules, glue them behind Apple logo. You've now got a back-lit logo, that will glow for years, won't consume any batter power whatsoever, and will get you hassled by security every time you try to fly.
But they were selling it and knew about these problems but forgot to mention it until they couldn't sell it anymore. Oh also they're all about quality so stay tuned for a light mod that they make. Lmao
...This does not refer to the KO Gadget product line-up as they are using a different module so these issues may or may not arise...
I speak on behalf of ifixdirect, i would like to clarify somethings in regards to your post. As we said, we were testing a similar approach as KO Gadget to back-light the logo. With our prototype, there were some concerns raised which we have described in that email. We were not referring to the KO Gadget kit in no way at all, in-fact it says so clearly here:
To be specific, the method of actually using the LCD cable as a power source turned out to have negative effects. The reason we referenced KO Gadget because they are also powering the backlight with the LCD cable. In fact if you remember iPatch from the UK who first introduced the mod for the iPhone 4, they were also using the same method as us (tapping directly into the LCD cable to power the LED patch). It is exactly why it required mailing the iPhone in or having a professional background since soldering was a. necessity.
In the end our company wants to steer clear of any confusions or negative relationships. We have ended things on good terms with KO Gadget and there may be future ventures as well. We are just as excited to see their prototype for this mod but wanted our customers to be aware of the issues we faced when developing a similar technology.
Thank you
Thank you for posting.
So when do you think iFix will have their own mod for this out?
There is no specific date, of-course we want it out before the iPhone 5 comes out but keep in mind it may even come out with the iPhone 5. It all depends on the way things will structure as the iPhone 5 may not have the mod as well and we would want to have cross-compatibility.
In the end, there is already a product out now in the market. Whether it is good or not, time will tell us that and i'm sure many of the members here are just as excited and eager to get theirs. I would wait to see what they say and then pull the trigger on KO Gadget.
Mine has not shipped. I sent message to them asking where it was. Got this:

Sorry for the delay and inconvenience caused.

Customer service
I havent heard a thing. Ordered on the 17th through Facebook using PayPal. I believe my tracking number is on my PayPal receipt.
I've checked their website with all those orders they've posted and have yet to match mine. I did order a white backing though.
Do you have an email address for them? I tried to find one on their website. It couldn't.
Some people just like certain mods, others don't. Thank you for taking the time to let us know what your thoughts are, very appreciated.I buy Apple stuff to use, not show off with. I really don't care about what others think, nor do I advertise for any company.
Thinking about doing the same if I get no response in the next couple days.I bought 4 on 16th, all for iPhone 4 (they are only having problems with white 4S) and they've told me mine won't ship till next week, despite over 1000 orders placed after mind having been shipped. Terrible service from KO Gadget, so bad infact I've opened a dispute for my money back.
I received my order from KO Gadget yesterday. Pictures coming soon!![]()
Anyone fitted the kit from kogadget? Works fine but my rear panel has serious issues with placement of the camera lense. Cant put my finger on it exactly I think its a combo of the placement of the lense, and also the prongs at the bottom that the screws go in to.
Currently the lense on the case is too low compared to the camera so the camera is picking a nasty shadow from the case, I have even spaced the prongs a few MM so from the rear you can hardly see any of the antenna at the top but loads at the bottom and its still not dead center![]()
I hope you've told this to KOgadget too?
Received mine in the mail today. As the previous poster was complaining about, there were shipping delays. I had ordered mine the week before Christmas and it was at least 2 weeks before I got any shipping conformation. Once I did however, a tracking number was included and all was well.
As far as the product itself, I think it looks pretty badass. Install was a little tedious, but not too bad if you follow the instructions on kogadgets site. Forget about the crap they have on youtube. You can't see a thing.
All said and done fit and finish on my kit is perfect. No gaps no camera alignment issues or anything of that nature.
For those of you still waiting on your orders, especially for 4s', be patient. You will get your kit sooner or later. Keep in mind its coming from Hong Kong. You'll be happy once you get it.
