i just got my first macbook(whitebook) yesterday and already downloaded camfrog pro,appzapper,vlc and went pro with quicktime,oh and got that ishowu. ishowu is great to record ur screen.

you might wonna get some type of clear stuff to sick on the palm rest and trackpad button,thats wot i did,will try and order one of them palm rest sticker things from macstyles.

and the enter button is small along with the @ being where 2 is lol
 
I'd recommend getting a program (free) called monolingual, it strips down the fat that you'll never use off of programs, gives you more room and makes things run faster...

I just tried this on my not-so-new Blackbook and it freed up 3.3gb of space, thanks for the tip :)
 
Also, if you're just a typical computer user, it shouldn't necessarily be a first thing on your to do list to remove language packs, since all in all it likely won't be a big deal to have the 2GB of extra space (IMO).

I would definitely get Mail working, set up Time Machine if you have an external HDD, and other than that, start making it feel like home.

And if you want to really get good use of your Mac, look into a program called Quicksilver.
 
Congratulations on your Mac and may you enjoy it for a long time. Personally, when I got my MBP last April, I needed to get Office for Mac - everyone in my work world uses Word and I have found that it was/is a necessity rather than a luxury.
