Just dropped phone in toilet!

It was submerge for about 3 seconds... but the worst part is that there was excriment in the toilet, so the feces got into the cracks and the cover.

What should I do? I heard putting it in pasta? Does it have to be uncooked? Because I just boiled the last of mine.

Bring it to Apple and pay $200 for a new one. Jesus Christ dude.

uncooked rice sealed in a bag. I wipe it off 1st but not power on.. at least a week. if you search there are a ton of toilet threads. Sorry but we do find them amusing. if I dropped one in a toilet I doubt I'd share it on a forum. think I just go to Apple and pay $199 to replace it and move on! :D

and pasta and rice are not the same just a fyi

rice is your best hope but chances are it is fried. I would recommend you taking your phone apart and removing the battery.

oh you could try talking to a genus tell him the truth sometimes they reward honesty.. bring some rubber gloves though and hand them to the Genus before you explain what happend..

btw calling people snobs will not benefit you!
 
lol does anyone remember the last time there was a water damage thread? you know, the one with diagrams ... *shrugs*

OP, best be you put it in dry rice. About the moisture damage sensor ... that's kinda nasty. I would have thrown my phone out (if not paid for a replacement).
 
I'm not sure if apple can fix the problem for you but I hope you learned your lesson about being more careful around a full toilet and an expensive phone. I mean, don't dwell on it, but be sure to learn from it. You know, take away an important lesson but at the same time, don't dwell on your mistake. Move on but be smarter about your possessions in the future. You know what I'm trying to say....

A lot of attitude for a guy who just took a dump on his iPhone.

I don't really think this guy is for real... First he talks about getting crap in his phone and then the water sensor turned brown from it (WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THIS) and then he talks about how he had to perform slave labor in and around asbestos just to buy the phone? Not to mention that his signature isn't actually a signature, he's copying and pasting it into each post at the end. :rolleyes:

Don't be such a snob. Not everybody can afford a signature, some people have to do manual labor and copy and paste it each time...

I think I speak for all of us when I say I have absolutely no desire to see anything like that.

Oops, sorry.

Anyway, the damage is done. I'd take the back off and run it under the tap until all nasties are gone, blow out water, bag of dry rice, back on, tail between legs, replace at apple store.
 
Giant pot of white rice STAT! Let it sit for 24-72hours then clean the **** out of it (pun intended) and try not to hold your phone over an open toilet again. Jesus Christ this is why I turn around in the bathroom and text or don't do anything explicit. Also $200 to get your phone repaired does not mean your a rich snob unless your just a troll. Your lucky they don't charge full price like with say every other smart phone! Besides I know people who could drop x8 that at once and not bat an eye and they are not "snobs".
