Just left the store now.

The try on appointment is semi pointless. While the employee that helped me let me try on every watch, the ones you try on are running a demo loop, so I can't experience the watch as it would be in the real world.

That said, this thing is stunning in person. And I have to say I loved loved loved the leather loop. I have read a few people on this forum say it lacks security but the one I had on was very secure.

My only gripe seeing it in person is that I wish it were bigger (maybe 46mm). The 38mm is way small for me. I have a 160mm wrist, and it looked small on my wrist.

The black stainless steel is by far the most beautiful one in person and that SG aluminum is very nice.

Overall, seeing it live and on me makes me want it even more.

Can't wait for 04/24!

I had my appointment a few minutes ago, and it totally affirmed my decision to order the 38mm Stainless with Milanese. The watch is beautiful and feels great, and I also gotta try a sport band, and was really impressed with the quality. Played with the demo model for quite a bit, and I thought it worked really well. But I am used to wearing a Fitbit (for a few years now) and the watch gives me even more functionality. I can't wait to get mine.

By the way, I also tried on the 42mm and it was just too big on me. Apple guy felt the same way, and so did all the people around me. It's a shame there wasn't a try-on period before pre-orders start. I'm just glad my instincts were correct.

Had my appointment yesterday. Originally pre ordered the Sport. But after the appointment cancelled my 4-6 week sport for a June Stainless Steel. I'm anxious but well worth the wait!

I agree. In my "Try on" thread I mentioned that the associate helping me said more people were liking the 38mm, and that reaffirmed my decision to go with the 38mm as well. I went a little band crazy, though. It's coming with the Classic buckle, but I also ordered the Milanese Loop and Link bands. I might return the Link band since it seemed a bit heavy, but I'll try it first once I can get more time to get the fit right.

You can still get most of the 38mm Stainless Steel, including the Sport Band, with 4-6 weeks delivery and get another band separately.

I'm going to order both black and green sport bands, and eventually, either black or blue modern buckle.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks the black SS looks like the normal SS in an ugly black case lol

If both the leather loop and Black SS were the same price, which one would you take? You mentioned you loved the leather loop but found the black stainless steel the most beautiful, so not sure if you are limiting yourself to your second favorite watch (leather loop) based on price or find leather loop better than the Black SS too? I ask this because I was indecisive at one point between the two and was going to put the leather loop onto the Black SS face, but then just decided to roll with the Black SS as is with the metal bracelet.

What size have you ordered?

42mm SS Milanese loop w/ a sport band in black

Hands down the black SS watch and band look the best. I went with the Milanese because it was the best of both worlds. Has the SS all around look without the price tag.

If money were no object it would be the black SS with the black links and a black leather loop for switching.

Since I had no plans on spending more than $399, I didn't even try any SS on. There was no point for me, but I am glad you found the watch you like.

Space Gray Sport for me.

The ones you try on are running demos. The ones that is attached to the white plate with the iPad mini is a working unit. You should go back and play with that. The iPad mini will know which app you're in and shows some descriptions about it.

I had my try on appointment today as well.

I have smaller wrists, about 160mm or so. I preordered the SG Sport with black band. For my taste, the 38mm was perfect. I did like the 42mm, but it felt too big for me. I agree with a majority people when I say that I was happily surprised with the sport band. The specialist also let me try on the 42mm with the leather loop. I love the blue and wish it came in 38 mm. I hope a third party makes something similar.

Getting excited, hope I get mine on the 24th!

My wrist is 155mm and I felt the 38mm was too small (maybe because I'm used to wearing G-shocks). I have a 38mm coming May 13-27 and a 42mm coming in June. I will be trying them on at the store a few more times before I make my final decision.

I did, but it isn't the same as putting it on, sending a test text to feel the vibrate, seeing the response time on raise to look and trying from various angles. Those are the types of things I'm interested in seeing.

I did play with the white plate and I liked what I saw.

The only way to experience it in the real world is to be in the real world. they don't want to have to go and pair the watch with every customers iPhone so they can have a real experience. otherwise they would have to have a horde of activated demo iPhones, one paired to each watch.

the major point of the try on is so you can see the materials, etc

I went in for a try on at the Modesto, California apple store today 4/12.

The 38mm looks tiny on my 160mm wrist, Glad I pre-ordered the 42mm Sport.

I was disappointed that they only had the 42mm Space Grey Sport with the Med/Large band. I was on the last notch. I asked about 3 times if they had the S/M band, At one point He was going to try and use the 38mm sport band on a 42mm model I stopped him and told him I don't think that will work. They also said they couldn't swap out the bands. I wanted to know where the 42mm S/M sport band pin's on my wrist.

The SS with Milanese Loop looks amazing.
