No problem glad you got a defect problem free phone.
That dead spotter app is the number one thing I do on iPad's and iPhone's saves you another trip back to the Apple Store.

I download that app in the parking lot or in store when I buy a device. Helped me with one of the iPhone 6 I bought. They wanted to charge me restocking at a T-Mobile store but I never left the site and showed them the pixel. They returned it with no fee and I got another 6 about a month or so later on Cyber Monday.

Well your not going to believe this but my replacement phone has now developed a dead pixel in exactly the same place as the original (below the signal bars top left)

What are the chances! Anyone else having this issue?

Not in the same place as yours, but after 8 days with my replacement, a stuck pixel developed in the bottom row. Had it replaced yesterday and the new one looks alright so far.

Just find it strange its in exactly the same place as my first phone, wondering what's behind the screen in that area.

Suppose will have to make an appointment for my 3rd 6S Plus. Another hour drive each way :(

If it makes you feel any better I am on my 3rd iPhone 6s Plus 64gb.

1. Extremely bad blemish (dark blotch) bottom left of screen [TSMC chip]
2. Minor blemish (dark blotch) bottom left of screen & severe light bleed from the top of the device. [TSMC chip]
3. Very minor light bleed from the top of display. [Samsung chip]

I am keeping the 3rd iPhone as I could spot a flaw on every display iPhone 6s Plus in the Apple Store. You could play the exchange game and risk getting another defect. It's all about finding an iPhone you're comfortable with keeping, I hope you find that iPhone on your next exchange! Good luck

...I then said about popping into store and they said easiest appointment is next Friday! Why I should have to make an appointment to exchange my device beyond me!

You're not the ONLY ONE that uses the Genius Bar. And be advised you may have to wait a few minutes after your appointment. I suspect 95% or more of the appointment ahead of you are for other problems with other devices.

Well today was going well until I found a dead pixel on my launch day 6S Plus :(

It's in the top left of the screen below the signal strength indicator.

Would this issue get the phone replaced if I went to an Apple Store? If so is it worth bothering yet or are stocks non-existent?
I would actually flip if that happened to me

Well well well. Today at work I just noticed a dead pixel around the battery icon area. Went to Apple Store got it exchanged for a new one. My new one I just got is good so far. No sign of any dead pixels. New one is also TSMC chip. This QC is getting ridiculous.

Glad they had a replacement for you. You've had a lot of them so I think you are right that their QC isn't that good. I wonder why it is worse this year VS others. Perhaps there are less staff to do the QC checks before pushing these new iPhones out of the factory.

Last year there were plenty of these types of issues. Prior to that there were various other types of screen issues as well.

If you are an early upgrader then just wait. Get it replaced before you buy the new one. You can then sell the old one for a couple of hundred more..... :)

Yeah, heaven forbid Apple for EVER having dead pixels on any of their mobile devices! HOW DARE THEY! Really dude? It happens. Get over it. You got a new one right? FWP at it's finest.

I understand. There Probably isn't any more than other manufacturers. However, given that this is Apple. Everyone expects perfection which is unrealistic for any company.

I know it happens but a dead pixel is just not acceptable and I will never accept a device with dead/stuck pixels. Once you see it, you cannot unsee the issue. My eyes will always draw to the area where the dead pixel is. And I can't get over it if it's a dead/stuck pixel. And yes I did a retail exchange for a new one. And this is dead/stuck pixel free.

Ok. You exchanged it right? Then all is well right?

I'm not one for swapping out my Apple products unless there are real issues with them. However, if I had found a dead pixel on my new 6S Plus, I'd take it back like you did and get a brand new one while I was still within the return period.

I share that same philosophy. I bought a 6+ preorder and when it came, I immediately noticed a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. I didn't want to be that person who keeps coming back and swapping, so I tried to live with it. It bugged me to no end, so I eventually took it in and a minute later walked out with a perfect replacement.

I definitely think some people abuse the return/exchange policy by switching out their new iPhones multiple times over silly things, *chipgate*, ect. But to me something like a dead pixel on a display that you will spend most of your time looking at during the day really does warrant a return. I've had iPhones and iPads in the past that didn't have a perfect display. But weren't ones that I couldn't live with either. I always kept them as long as they performed well otherwise.

Been living with a stuck pixel at the top left by the signal dots since I noticed it a few weeks after I got my iPhone 6. It bugged me for a week or two and since then I barely think of it or see it more than once every few months or so. I've been a perfectionist quite a bit of time but over the years I've become more of a pragmatist weighing the hassle of things and earthing else involved vs the need for complete perfection in everything all the time.

The worrying thing for me is both 6S phones I have had seem to be perfect for a few weeks then dead pixels start appearing.

I checked before I left the Apple Store with the first replacement and it was fine, two weeks in and it has a dead pixel.

well just to tell you i have replaced at least 15 yes 15 iPhone 6S 128GB ( as i have a space grey and a rose gold ) so the include both colours and i have found mostly dust or pixel issues in each. Dust in the camera is the biggest issue i came across. Also i thought i was lucky that i got a space grey one with out pixel issues i even checked with a loop and it was fine but that pixel issue popped up just below the network bar. I changed at least 8 till i got a good one and same with rose gold I know the pixel issue popped up only recently as I have very well checked the phone for at least 20 minutes with a 10X loop. The rose gold just has a greyish pixel and it can't be seen in certain angles.

I am fed up so just F_ _K It. Going to keep the rose gold.

Not good! Looking at other threads around the signal bars seems to be a hot spot for dead pixels :(

I've been through two 6S+ both with dead pixels, one was below the carrier signal, the other just above it. Didnt appear out of the box either, after a few days. Also last year I had 7 or so iPhone 6+ all with dead pixels.

I'm guessing there is something behind the screen causing it, pressing against it too hard or something.

I have a small blue blemish on the bottom right of my screen that annoys me while reading white background, do you think apple will replace my phone or will they try to fix it?
