I have sadly never had Apple call, i love their irish accents!

i would quite like to have a chat to one of these scam people, see what they are offering, and then out smart them. 'does this come with techtool, techtool pro, or techtool deluxe?'

i didn't know apple ever offer applecare cheaper than their store price, i really hope they ring me up in the next few weeks and offer a discount price!!

I got one of these calls today too. I've owned several apple products and never got a call like this. It was weird and felt like it wasn't legit. I declined. The lady asked me what I liked best about my phone, if I had any complaints, and then tried to pressure me to get the applecare warranty. I bought in September, so the warranty doesn't expire until next September. The weird thing is that they called me at home and not on the iphone. I figured if they're calling about the iphone, they must have that number.

I've been called before by Apple...about 3 weeks after I bought my iMac, also about Apple Care.

can't find it either...

I asked about Applecare when I bought my iPhone at a UK Apple Store a couple weeks ago - was told by the manager that they hadn't announced it for the UK yet, but he guessed that they would in advance of warranties running out (by November?)

So Apple just called me in regards to the refurbished iPhone i bought in October... They asked me if i was satisfied with it, and then tried to pressure me into buying apple care (she said it was new..?)

Is this common to get calls from apple?

This is normal. I have gotten calls in the past.

This is completely normal. Apple uses the information that's provided on your internal AppleCare profile. They typically only call my home number for sales calls. For Apple Store orders, they will call my cell.

I've had them call for some things and not for others. If it really bothers you, you can request that they don't notify you of warranty expirations.

Yep, got the AppleCare call...

for one of my MacBooks. They called the house and explained that it was about my one year warranty expiring soon and the opportunity to take advantage of the "education discount" AppleCare for $183 plus tax. I told them I'd stop-by the local Apple Store and extend my AppleCare this weekend.

I've been contacted by Apple too about apple care for my PB. They had all my info (serial #, apple email) so I know it was legit. Never got a call for my iMac, or ipods though. And it wasn't a 'pressure' sales call, just letting me know it was available.
But I guess it always could be a scam. See if you can get a number to call them back at?

I've been both called and emailed before. It's not really that annoying - sometimes it can be a good reminder that your warranty is expiring! In my experience, if you tell them you're not interested, they are very polite and leave you alone (about that product, anyway) after that.

"Go ahead and just give me your credit card number and I'll get this all set for you." yeah right!

I do, however, receive endless "important" letters warning me that the warranty is about to expire on my car and I "need to act now" to ensure that I don't lose protection.

I get calls as well and, oh, I really enjoy getting that call at work once a week. Unfortunately they always leave messages as they call at night. The automated voice is becoming quite pleasant to listen to. I almost want their crap protection, alas, my six year old Accord with 111K miles has been out of coverage for years.

On topic, sorry, Apple never calls. I feel so rejected. Not even a text???

It has been since day 1.

No, it hasn't. AppleCare for the iPhone came out weeks after launch.

Definitely wasn't available since day one. I remember having a discussion with an Apple rep a few weeks after getting my iPhone (Got one on launch day) and he told me when AppleCare would be arriving for it because I noticed it wasn't available and asked him to confirm.

I once got a call from Apple... I'd been looking at the XServes on the website, and a day or so later a rep called and asked if I needed help with my order. I told him I was sorry, just dreaming. :) (I guess I had been logged in with my AppleID, and I had bought a Mac and registered it, so they had my number)
