I have both, and to be honest I like BOTH. I use the new iPad 2 for travelling, and the iPad 1 for around the house.

Enjoy your iPad 1 and then buy the 3 when it comes out. :)

So I've been wanting an iPad for a while i just traded my PS3 for one today. The only thing is I'm wondering if I should sell this one and use the money to get a nice new ipad 2.
You mentioned movies. If you like the tablet idea, and just want a better movie experience, go look at the Acer Iconia tablet and/or the Asus Transformer tablet. Their 1280 x 800 screens are closer to 16:10 than the 4:3 screen of the ipad (either one of them). They both play any video that plays on your iPad right out of the box, but will also play almost any other format/codec with an easy download of the free MobiPlayer app and codec set. The Asus has an IPS with Gorilla glass screen. The screen on the Acer is nearly as nice. I have all three, and really enjoy movies on the two android tablets. Both have HDMI outputs as well, and don't need a dongle. The Acer has a charging dock that brings remote control. The Asus has Keyboard dock that also doubles battery life on the tablet. The Acer has a full size USB port on the side and can read media off any thumb drive or USB storage you hook up there.

The speed difference in everything is noticeable to me on the iPad 2. The extra ram certainly helps with multitasking as well. I can keep around 20 apps in memory with a few of those being games. On iPad 1, I was averaging six apps and any games would kill a few of those due to the lack of ram.

I already have the ipad

I usually pre-order major Apple launches the first day and with the iPad 2 I decided to hold off.

None of the upgrades got me excited:

Cameras: couldn't imagine a use for them.
Slimmer: doesn't matter to me because I use an Otterbox because of my kids.
Faster: couldn't picture noticeable speed upgrades because I've never had speed issues with my 1.

The test came when I finally used an iPad 2 that my friend had gotten. I felt like I had made the right decision staying with my 1.

This isn't a knock on the 2, obviously. It's awesome. It's more just praise for how well Apple did with the initial iPad. They got it so right that there were really no huge leaps and bounds that could be made in one year to improve on it.

Apple could only tweak perfection in one year.

So, as someone that has had the iPad 1 from the start and has used the 2, you are enjoying pretty much the same experience with a 1 as with a 2.
