iOS18 feels like a massive Nothing Burger without Apple Intelligence.

I agree! I can imagine Cook's face when they told him there was no way the AI features could be ready in time for the release of iOS 18. What a mess.

It's very likely Apple knew that they would be late with AI already when they announced Apple Intelligence.

I'm convinced Apple would have preferred to wait until 2025 to even announce AI features, but realized they had to jump in already this year all the while knowing this is they would not be able to meet the September releases.

Ability to lock apps is nice. iPhone Mirroring, Passwords app and Math notes are some of the other good additions.

Finally you can move icons without all the others moving too! Only 16 years after Android!

Obviously not talking about the horrible jiggle mode where one minor wrong movement can make all the icons jump from page to page or jump outside of a folder and rearrange everything erratically.

Also no issues here so far, if people do have issues have you tried a simple fone restart and see if that helps

YUP I restarted my phone and shockingly MORE THINGS FROZED on me....like apps etc....they wouldnt open or took forever to open....VERY BUGGY. I AM CONVINCED THEY GAVE US THE BETA on accident. I have had MANY CONVERSATIONS WITH APPLE ALREADY about this. Theyre in denial its sad.

If you write dinner = $42, movies = $24, and dessert = $18 in the Notes app or in the Math Notes section of Calculator, you can then type in dinner + movies + dessert and add an equals sign to get the total.

I am sure the article is not lying, but this is not working as described for me. If I write X + Y = Z it works fine, but I can't write a variable and give it a value.

Anyone else struggling? Missing something obvious?

I read it as “[Should You] Just Install iOS 18? Here Are 10 Things to Do First.” I realize I’m being pedantic but it looks like I’m not the only one who was a little confused by the title.

You're not being pedantic. There is no reason why we should have to infer what MacRumors is trying to say.

The headline SHOULD read: "Just installed..." unless there is a character limit for titles, but even then they could just remove the "Just".

MacRumors: Just fix it.

I guess I'm not the type of user Apple is targeting these days. My phone today looks just like it did two days ago. I use just a few widgets, on the screen you get when you swipe right. My Home Screen contains the icons for the apps I use most. Swipe left to get more icons in folders. That's it. I have no interest in customizing things, no interest in changing the colors of the icons. Having a separate Passwords app is nice, though.

Apple said on Friday: “Due to the regulatory uncertainties brought about by the Digital Markets Act, we do not believe that we will be able to roll out three of these [new] features — iPhone Mirroring, SharePlay Screen Sharing enhancements and Apple Intelligence — to our EU users this year.”

I get that Apple Intelligence may be a problem to implement when there's uncertainty regarding EU regulations but what the hell does the iPhone Mirroring feature have to do with that!? Can't say I'm not disappointed..

yes very bad update......its very slow too. ICLOUD BACKUP STORAGE BUG IS MY ISSUE......I barely have anything on my phone and it keeps increasing the icloud backup storage.

The bloated iCloud backup issue is a built in feature which is only there to make you buy more storage. Been there for years and never changes due to greed.
