There's a small crack about 2mm long just to the right of the sleep/wake button. Weird thing is, it's not touching any of the edges...it doesn't touch the bezel and it doesn't touch the sleep/wake button, it's just there and I have no idea how it could've appeared. This phone was a replacement that I received two days ago. Would you return it? Paying $500 for something that's cracked, although small, doesn't make me too happy.

Stop being anal.
I have 8 hairline cracks. One of them is half an inch long. Oh, and my dock cord ripped some plastic out of my phone this morning. Before this morning I wasnt getting it replaced because it was just cosmetic damage. Now its hindering the charging so its an issue. You got a refurb. They have hairline cracks. Hairline cracks will ALWAYS be on iPhones.
I do understand your point though 100%. I know you're not happy. Its natural to feel like you deserve perfection, but no phone is perfect. Nothing is perfect. You're justified in your feelings but every replacement you get will have the cracks. :apple:

Not only you should swap your phone, but also already demand a second one for the case, that there will be a tiny crack again. 😱

All these posts about cracks! I've never even looked to see if I have cracks. All I care about is that my phone works properly. I understand the OP wants perfection as do many of the posters, but it's only a phone.

ARE YOU INSANE?! THE IPHONE IS MY JESUS!

(I can't even type that with a straight face)

Are you kidding me OP?
Seriously, it's a hairline crack. Your next one is bound to have it too.

I love these people that come in here and demand you stop acting anal because your 300-500 dollar brand new ****ing phone has a crack in it.

None of my Iphones have had cracks and if they did, especially brand new, I would take it back for a new one.

Stop being anal just because your brand new car came with a dent in it, just deal with it because the poster said to. What a joke response that is.

I disagree. I owned a white 3G for a year and it didn't have any cracks.

You weren't looking hard enough.

Chances are you are wrong and Jessica is always awesome.

Nice double post by the way.
And if that same dealership keeps giving you the same car with the same dent, eventually you accept it and move on. Oh, and learn to use quote tags.

I noticed hairline cracks. "I didn't want it to get any worse" I told the Apple Genius.

So they swapped it out and I got a new one.

10mins.

Wrong. Go away with your nonesense and misinformation.

What are you on about?

First 2 could have easily been merged into one post.

Yes, you should return the iphone and ask for a new one.
Along with that, you should ask for 1 full year warranty on that one. They give you only 90 days, you should demand for a full year.

Oh trust me, I was looking hard. I found none.

uh..no. If you accept it and move on then all you've done is proven to the dealer that you're a b!tch.

-Fine. Your phone was perfect. Keep replacing your 3Gs until its perfect. God knows you deserve it.

-That dealer is Apple.

Wouldn't be surprised that when he gets the holy grail of iPhones that he doesn't accidentally drop it in the toilet.

And then makes another thread about what he should do. Should he use rice? A blow dryer? Pay the water damage fee?

But hey, at least it will be hairline crack free! 🙄 (Dont worry OP, I dont think this will actually happen. It was me being sarcastic towards the other 100 threads about "should I return it?")
